Aaah, so many memories! I LOVE this game. It's just so GOOD. There isn't anything like it. I love both the Sega and PS1 formats. You just can't get any better than Lunar.
love this!!!! man i feel like a kid again..playing from the sega cd version..to the playstation one..and now i just recently bought the psp version..Lunar will never get old :) thanks for the upload!!
The most touching part of the game, so fittingly saved for the end! Everything about it touches me deep in my heart, and the brief image of Dragon Master Dyne standing where Aex stands now, was an amazing addition. I love this game, if it never came to PSP i would have never had the pleasure of enjoying it.
i agree with oldboy they dont make games like this anymore and i doubt seriously we will never see anymore either but im glad there are still little treasures like this floating around
If it was that shallow and Hiro didn't truly love Lucia, Hiro wouldn't have traveled the ends of the Earth, face a cosmic evil, and live the rest of his life on the blue star for her. Also, Lunar 2 is more about Lucia herself developing as a character. She learns how to be human, how to feel emotions, and how to love. And she loves Hiro. The reason she left for the blue star without him was because she was afraid to see him die.
I love this game, but the american voice acting really does not do this game justice. It sounds like they are having an intimate moment together, if you catch my drift.
And that just adds to my point. You don't get to see any development with Luna and Alex's relationship because they don't even see each other for most of the game. Hiro and Lucia had a relationship that naturally grew over the course of the game, and the romance aspect is one of the game's shining moments. Now, I love Lunar 1 as well, but I just love Lucia better than Luna. :D
i really really love this game. it was so hard ^_* but i fell in love with alex and luna. who whole game is perect. great animation and awesome storyline. it is was one the best rpgs that i have played. the 2nd installment, eternal blue, will pale in comparison with this. it can be sashayed witg other big rpg names like final fantasy and suikoden (my other fave game series') i wish they would make games like this again.
No but they die a few years after this to old age including Luna who gave up her reborn powers to live with Alex and the only one who survived of course is Nall who Luna knew would live a thousand more years. Now Nall has three forms, Little Dragon form, Little human form and his Dragon form.
damn, when i finished this game (lunar silver star harmony) i was so sad that it was over! i wanted to see what happened after, hahah. but it just made me happy :D script is definitely different from this one to the other
yeah this game is truly epic there are one or two games i can think of that come close but not in storyline nothing this touching i cry everytime i see this ending but i was so mad how after u beat ghaleon u have to play the damn flute or she kills u but its truly never been outdone and it has yet too
This is sweet but Lunar 2 was sweeter. You got to see Hiro and Lucia's relationship develop throughout the game, and it drove you forward. Seeing the ending of the epilogue is the most satisfying thing ever when they finally kiss. In Lunar 1 Luna was kidnapped for half the game.
Yeah, Lunar 2 I think is the better game for its character development. However, I think Lunar Silver Star Story has better music. I guess that's because Silver Star Story was rebuilt from the ground up including composing from the Sega CD version, while Lunar 2 was exactly the same as the Sega CD version just with better looking animation and bromides and stuff.
Yeah, I was actually disappointed on how little was changed from the sega cd version. Some of the animated cut scenes look weird, too. Lucia and Jean's eyes are really far apart in some scenes. What the first game had going for it was Ghaleon. Ghaleon was the best part of Silver Star Story, and Zophar doesn't come anywhere close to compare.
My problem with the cutscenes was all the damn CG. It stuck out to me like a sore thumb and added nothing to the animation. The ONE good CG scene I remember from that game was Zophar eating Althena's Fortress. That was actually pretty horrifying. Everything else was extremely forgettable. And by the way... that giant rock thing in that optional dungeon? NOT THE PHANTOM SENTRY. That pissed me off so much. Yeah, the original didn't have a place in the Sega CD game at first, but it was still cool.
wow these posts are soo old. I love this game too >_> I didn't play it as young as yall i never got the chance to. But i have the rom on my emulator and this is one of my favorite games of all time! This and Legend of Dragoon D; I liked this better than Eternal Blue though. I couldnt get over how much different the world was in the time span :P Made me not like it
Eternal Blue had the better music in my opinion, but SSSC was a superior remake on ALL counts. Eternal Blue's remake was one of the biggest disappointments in my adolescence. The Sega CD version was WAY better (to me. I don't speak for anyone but myself here and am not trying to change people's minds).

My first RPG I ever played, back on the Sega CD. 1st grade, i was quoting this game and the teachers thought I was a creative genius.

I like both Lunar games. Both Lunar and Lunar 2 are in first place. But if there was ever a game that I thought might have gotten close it was Abyss.
This game was great and I didn't think I'd like Eternal Blue as much, but it was even better.
Tales of the Abyss was close, but Lunar will always be my number one!
