    The song is "King Porter Stomp," made famous mostly be Benny Goodman and Fletcher Henderson.

      Joshua Mora Morton wrote it and he and King Oliver recorded the song together (Morton on piano and Oliver on cornet) and Morton recorded a piano solo on a 1939 record.

      He play the saxophone not the trombone, it was Tommy Dorsey who played the trombone

      @@ericdreizen1463 Hi. I also met Si several times in Detroit(Auto Show) and Windsor(Across the border)Elmwood Casino, (1966-1967)He was very nice, and offered me a job with the band on trombone. I couldn't take it as I was at that time a musician in the RCAF(Canadian Forces) band.He was the most outstanding and exciting trombonist I ever heard in person before or since, and his band was great. I understand that he was a very hard taskmaster.

      True Joe e Brown was a very good baseball player in his younger years came close to signing with the new York Yankees with the Ruth gerhrig team of the 1920 s he had one son killed in wwtwo and another son owner of the Pittsburgh pirates baseball team

      I think its Irwing "Babe" Russin who also were with Jimmys brother Tommy a while.

      Charlie Ventura was with Krupa at this time. Mind you the mustache is similar

    There are a few black couples among the dancers....I wonder what the reality was for black soldiers who went to The Hollywood Canteen? Did they feel welcomed, were there black woman for them to dance with? Anyone know?

      The actual canteen was an integrated place though most of its guests preferred to socialize with their own race. This did not however apply to the volunteers

      At the real Hollywood Canteen none of the Stars were allowed to date any of the Servicemen but "Victory Girls" waited outside,some as young as 14.
