I used to murder people with Yao. Pick and roll, pick and pop, either block and faceup with a jump stop layup. He would goaltend himself on occasion on the game, which was frustrating. But I had all the moves for the guy.

His last few years in the League, he go to rest, but the damage was likely already done. (stress fracture after stress fracture). He was more than just a big body, because actually shaq wasn't that much bigger than many other big men, while Yao towered over everyone. I'm just saying that just because shaq couldn't shoot jump shots doesn't mean that he didn't have lots of other skills.

The simple thing to remember is that this guy was so big, nobody his size is supposed to have the skill and soft touch he had. He had really good footwork that no center has had since the dream. Sure it looks ugly, that's because he was so big. On a skill level this is as good as it gets.

He was more than just a big body, because actually shaq wasn't that much bigger than many other big men, while Yao towered over everyone. I'm just saying that just because shaq couldn't shoot jump shots doesn't mean that he didn't have lots of other skills.

Yao gained weight and got more powerful in post later in his career, which made him more dominant, yet ironically, because he got such power not by talent but by excessive training, it was considered a reason for his early retire.
