Thank you for this tutorial! It's very helpful! Is there a template for a general taxonomy? Or would I have to use the org chart? If so, can I change the Name, Reports To etc.? Thanks again!
I phrased my question wrong. I should have said, is Name and Reports To, a variable name that I can change or is it a part of the code? Also, the wizard appears to only be available with the org chart. Is that right or are there wizards available for other templates? Thank you!
Hi. Is it for beginners? My major is EEE. Is this course for civil engineers? I am having trouble choosing the best Visio course from TH-cam. I don’t want advanced course, just basic to intermediate so I can get familiar with the software and interfere and make medium project. Thanks.
I have a problem that needs urgent help right, so I have a dotted line where you can only add it seems one text to it but it is a long one that at other points of this dotted line I need to add text do overlap it and not it showing in the background of that text but I have no idea how to do this. Any help will be appreciated
It's weird but am only able to create a static connection bw shapes, as even if I click in the middle of the shape in order to create a connection, it always points to the dots and creates a glued connection. please guide
To search in Visio, you can: Click the Expand the Shapes window arrow (>) at the top of the window. At the top of the Shapes window, click Search. Type search terms in the Search shapes box. Use the Replace dialog box to find and replace specified text in shapes in the active drawing. Search for shapes and stencils that are local to your device. In the search box at the top of the Shapes pane, enter a keyword or phrase. On File menu, click Options. In the Visio Options dialog, from left side bar, select Advanced, and from main window, scroll down to find the Shape search section, and enable Show Shape Search pane option. Select the template you want, or select Basic Diagram to start from scratch. You can also browse for more templates by clicking Categories, and you can enter terms to search for templates.
Visio Professional or Visio Plan 2 can be used to create electrical and electronic schematic diagrams. To create an electrical engineering drawing in Visio, you can use the Electrical Engineering drawing type. Alternatively, you can use the Electrical and Telecom Plan template in the Maps and Floor plans category. This template opens a scaled drawing page in landscape orientation, and you can use shapes from Walls, Shell, and Structure to sketch your building's floor plan.
Awesome Video! I have a question regarding dimensions. Do you know how i can measure a curved line in Visio? I wasnt able to find any way to do that like CAD does.

I'm completely stuck on one specific issue. Within Visio I can create custom shapes and I can edit templates but what I can't figure out is how to import a picture into a shape inside of an existing template or in the process of creating a template. I want to be able to create a stencil that I can use in an organizational chart that allows me to add a picture to the circle shape. I've tried editing an image with the crop tool in word and just about everything I can think of. I know there's a way but I can't find ANYTHING that tells me how to turn a photo of a team member into a circle I can incorporate into a shape or a photo into an existing circle shape.
Fantastic free resource. If you watch it and take time offline to replicate the examples, you'll be up to speed in a couple of hours. Many thanks.
