Galway Boxing Club is the longest existing boxing club in county Galway, established in 1934. Eddie McDonagh, the President, and head coach is proud of the club’s history and successes. Membership is growing annually. Not only does the Galway Boxing Club support the local children and young adults of the Community, but also encourages the parents and volunteers to become coaches and mentors. The club is fully aware of the daily challenges of life and the importance of mental health. According to Eddie, the club is akin to the family unit, and they strive towards achieving a safe environment for members and visitors alike. “Even when there’s no hope, there is hope. Our club is for everyone, of all ages, ethnicities, and abilities. Our hope for 2024 is to attract new members and positively impact our community through achievement and a sense of wellbeing” says Eddie.
