Remember at the end of Hope he says to his “dark side”, “I’m taking the reigns.” In this song, which is a couple years earlier he says, “I really want to take the reign on my thoughts.” This is what NF does, he builds song upon song almost like he had all his albums written before he recorded any of them. He comes out and says it in “The search” and a few of his other songs. “Leave me alone” is the sequel to the search…both speak truth and are kind of hype songs. Won’t make you cry. Mansion and How could you leave us for his story. Those are sad but essential. Cheers
