Hey hazel! Pile 3 here. Thanks for letting me know why i attract emotionally unavailable people. I always thought they were attracted to my healing energy. But youre right. I keep things close to the chest and come off as aloof even when in a relationship. I want to open up but i want the other to help me feel comfortable to open up maybe by them doing so too. I have been trying to listen more but lately ive just been trying to find my voice. What really matters and how to communicate that. Pile 2 I’ve seen a lot of relationships withstand the test of time but not happily 😣 false illusions that keep them there, more out of obligations and expectations and loyalty rather than happiness. I don’t expect a fantasy life because that isn’t real but I don’t want something that isn’t right for me just because that’s what is expected.

My parents were married for 43 years until my Mom passed in 2000, she loved my Dad truly unconditionally. My Dad passed this year at age 93, 20 years after my Mom had passed and Dad never stopped loving her. My Husband saw this in his Grandparents who were married for about the same amount of time. EDIT: Pile #2. I will say this: I believe in love now more than I ever have done, but I've been surrounded by narcissistic abuse for much of my life, and I'm in a very unique narcissistic abuse situation now. Long story short - U.N. is investigating, that's how bad it is. So because of that situation, I believe in love, but it's going to be a very strong, powerful, pure & self-sacrificial love to break through this situation, as well as past trauma and my own psychological malaise. And most people are not like that, myself included, so I have to be wise & realistic. Genuine love is not, and will never be, impossible. But in my situation, it requires more faith than usual.
