He really don't care about the ambiant lighting for the background... The background was too much under-exposed... He should just increase the iso and lower the lighting. Just my opinion. Off course i'm not famous photographer like he is and i don't want to argue with some people who love his work. The only picture that i loved was in the Metro. Really nice shoot. Samet
Agree with others that there was fine inspiration but light was simply too strong, I.e., unnatural in the hands of at least this photog. The video images were more natural, pastel, and not too white.

well underground shot is amazing...nothing to say...other photos the flash is too much The profit b2 with one head cost 2000 dollar...you can buy the good pro 360 ttl for 480 dollar...so 4 flash at cost of b2..... the godox has a beautiful lamp that spreads light much better in every direction, while the b1 and b2 especially with bigger light shapers throw light in front creating most of time an hot spot in the center. if you want buy a much better system and stay with classic brand elinchrom quadra is simply better at less money and 2/3 stop more.
your not using your light meter. the tunnel train shot was too hot, and the wall in the tunnel was burned out. the scooter shots were also hot. the beginning shots were the best in the closet and fridge. it seems the video guys edited this, because the focus is on their camera work and not on the photographer's work. the models, hair, wardrobe was great, but the photographer's work around shutter dragging was not to my liking. he seemed to have two temperatures between the lite subjects and background. cool french music i the background.
Except the cool metro photo, the rest would be cooler - imho - with available light. This flash-style looks like advertising photos in a brochure, not very individual and distracts from the personality. I just don't like that style of photography.
You are right. He just throws light at the models, not in a very subtel way. And he doesn’t care for the backgrounds, neglects them as if they were not part of the picture. What a pity.
those scooter shots were hurt. the poses were wack in half these images. underexposed backgrounds. which leads me to this statement. there are some photographers that are great at what they do, and they rarely even take time to "teach" their assistants what they're doing. and other learn a lil' something and can't wait to do a video on TH-cam.
These young photographers know nothing of photograpy, flash and technic. They talk too much. What is really new with this low powerd Profoto B1 &B2. An old Metz 402 made in 1975 is better.

The train shot is amazing but much of the time I'm left thinking why use flash? Many of the images would look better without flash I think.
