I saw Manson and Hole open for NIN at Pine Knob outside of Detroit on September 2, 1994. After the show, my friend and I were sitting in the grass waiting for the parking lot to clear out, when my friend said "Isn't that Manson over there?" I looked to where he was pointing, and sure enough... there was Marilyn Manson leaning against a trash can, wearing black and green striped tights. We approached him, introduced ourselves, and talked to him for a good 20 minutes. I remember asking him "I really like the song Misery Machine, but you guys didn't play it?" he said "Yeah, we had it on the list, but COURTNEY wanted to get on stage so we got cut short." At one point he said "I gotta go grab Twiggy but I'll be back in a few minutes..." and my dumb ass said "Ok well we gotta get going, but it was nice meeting you. Love your music man!" and that was it. He was a pretty chill, soft spoken guy at the time.

Actually when Trent smashed that guitar, that really happened. Trent saw the guitar, Daisy handed it to him. Trent held it, strummed it for a few minutes and complimented it. Then he grabbed the guitar neck and smashed it. After Trent smashed it, he handed it back to Daisy and left. Daisy was too shocked to say anything. It was hilarious!!!!
I said it before and say it again. It’s a love hate relationship between these two. I feel Trent knows how to produce the music and make hits. Manson knows how to market it and sell it! The best thing either of them ever did was Antichrist Superstar. There's multiple versions of that album. There's the album Daisy Berkowitz wanted. There's the album Trent Reznor wanted. Then there's the album Marilyn Manson wanted. Daisy Berkowitz makes it very clear that Reznor and Manson were both awful and detailed a lot of drug binges leading to violence perpetrated against the spooky kids or whomever had the misfortune of being in the studio. Reznor did, in fact, haze Berkowitz out of the studio. They never got along. Berkowitz wanted silly Spooky Kids music, similar to the first album and EP, and complained about a song about a snowman ⛄️ being cut. Trent Reznor didn't want another Spooky Kids album, he wanted the Downward Spiral 2.0. Trent Reznor destroying Daisy's father's guitar was the final straw. Reznor left once the Lost Highway soundtrack project came up. Manson then was able to record for real once he fired Reznor's puppet Doug Oglive and replace him Sean Beavan. The guitar parts were mostly done by Twiggy Ramirez, and some others by new guitarist Zim Zum, but he didn't stick around long. The album itself may have been on Reznor's label and in his studio, but the finished product is Manson's. I'm not sure why Reznor has feelings of resentment, but it looks like he was upset that Manson got the version he wanted and that's what propelled him into surpassing NIN in the late 90s. I'm glad Trent Reznor got clean because he was going down a path similar to the one Marilyn Manson is still on. Hopefully, Manson can get clean, too. Manson has definitely seen better days.

Antichrist Superstar in my opinion is one of the best put together rock albums of all time. It's a shame they can't work together again Trent said it best ..... if Manson is mostly sober and respectful they could be number one in rock again. At least Trent could be open and honest about how big Manson got with that Album. I met Manson in Vancouver BC when he toured twice ... he seemed sober and had a solid handshake. His body guards looked like CIA at that time when I met him and did two pat downs and a wand sweep... it was pretty crazy

At the time, that kid, combined with the frustration and abuse at home brought me that place. The blood, the drugs, and the risky sex was apart of that life. I was kid but I was kid who made a choice. Not the best choice. I don't look back and think, " I wanna sue those 20 year-olds". I think about how I can help kids in that situation. Reznor left once the Lost Highway soundtrack project came up. Manson then was able to record for real once he fired Reznor's puppet Doug Oglive and replace him Sean Beavan. The guitar parts were mostly done by Twiggy Ramirez, and some others by new guitarist Zim Zum, but he didn't stick around long.
The album itself may have been on Reznor's label and in his studio, but the finished product is Manson's. I'm not sure why Reznor has feelings of resentment, but it looks like he was upset that Manson got the version he wanted and that's what propelled him into surpassing NIN in the late 90s. I'm glad Trent Reznor got clean because he was going down a path similar to the one Marilyn Manson is still on. Hopefully, Manson can get clean, too. Manson has definitely seen better days.

Billy was present during some of the Antichrist Superstar recordings. He was friends with both Reznor and Manson. Reznor apparently had been jealous with Billy after Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness came out, but Billy didn't know Trent was upset until he saw that scene in the video lol.
Antichrist Superstar in my opinion is one of the best put together rock albums of all time.

I was a street kid at 14, I remember sitting in the back of a van (down by the river) with a few 20 somethings. We were listening to MM and NIN and many bands I didn't know. One girl pulled out a box cutter. She use a bic lighter to sterilized it and she suggested we " turn our pain into art". It got intense, there was some s*x and some dr*gs and a fair amount of bl**d.
At the time, that kid, combined with the frustration and abuse at home brought me that place. The blood, the drugs, and the risky sex was apart of that life. I was kid but I was kid who made a choice. Not the best choice. I don't look back and think, " I wanna sue those 20 year-olds". I think about how I can help kids in that situation. What my art and behavior NOW does to help. I appreciate the scars and the memories. That music, those times are mine. MM and NIN were apart of the soundtrack.

Manson survived after The Beautiful People because I went on his forum and wrote rock and roll. Did it for 15 years. About a 1000 set of lyrics used by about 180 artists. I wrote em for him and all your favorite rock stars. Hell I named a good many of them myself. Not even Ozzy has escaped my influence. One things for sure.
