This was my favorite movie when I was a kid. I'd watch it with my grandma on VHS at her house. We loved Overboard, and I'm so happy that yall enjoyed it, too!
This was a favorite in our house too. It was one of the movies that we taped off of HBO when they would do a week free of the channel to get subscribers, and we would tape any movies that we wanted to keep. Three movies to a VHS tape on SLP mode, those were the days. 😂 So it was one we watched over and over. My mom loved it and we watched it so many times that I could quote so many lines. My favorite line ever “It’s not us dad, it’s Roy!” 😂 Also some of my favorite lines are by Katherine Helmond (Mona from Who’s The Boss!) who plays her mother. Also Roddy McDowell! ❤

Kurt Russell was a Disney movie regular in his youth, and considered a heartthrob among pre-teen girls. Goldie Hawn came on the scene as playing a ditzy young blonde in sketch comedy on the old 1960's comedy show "Laugh-In" , which led to her being cast in the movie "Cactus Flower"& winning critical acclaim. Their paths crossed in the 80's while starring in a film together, They became a gorgeous, madly-in-love couple that never legally married. They raised Goldie's girls from her first marriage (one is actress Kate Hudson) and also have a son together. They've been together 40 years and are still going strong, Great chemistry, comedic timing, and solid acting. Overboard is one of the cutest rom-coms and never gets old!

Russell was a kid star as you mentioned and in addition to movies he was on lots of tv shows too. He even played Jungle Boy on an episode of Gilligan's Island in 1965.
Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell met while filming the Disney film 'The One and Only, Geniuine ,Original Family Band'. Goldie was one of the dancers and Kurt a member of the family. Goldie is older than Kurt.

Kurt Russell (March 17, 1951) and Goldie Hawn (November 21, 1945) have been a real life love couple (not married) since 1983. He started out as a child actor on television since he was 12, making his on screen debut in an Elvis Presley movie called "It Happened At the World's Fair" in which he got to kick Elvis in the shins twice. Later, as a teenager, he acted in many Disney movies. He worked both on the big screen as on television. In 1979, 2 years after Elvis Presley passed away, Russell even played Elvis in a made for TV movie called "Elvis". Other movies of his are The Thing, Tango&Cash (with Sylvester Stallone), Tombstone, Forest Gump (uncredited as the voice of Elvis Presley). Goldie Hawn started her career dancing and performing on stage before getting on the television show "Rowan & Martin's Laugh-In" in which she was one of the regulars. Hawn often broke out into high-pitched giggles in the middle of a joke, then delivered a polished performance a moment after. That is what she became famous for and what landed her her first roles in big screen movies. She often played a bubbly, "dumb", blonde in the early years. Hawn and Russell first met while filming The One and Only, Genuine, Original Family Band in 1966, but obviously nothing happened yet between 15-year-old Russell and 21-year-old Hawn until much later. Hawn later developed into a big name, not just acting but also producing movies. She became a big box office hit with several of her movies like Private Benjamin, Overboard (with Kurt), Bird on a Wire (with Mel Gibson), Death Becomes Her (with Bruce Willis and Meryl Streep), The First Wives Club (with Bette Midler and Diane Keaton). Hawn was married twice. From her 2nd marriage she had 2 children, son Oliver (born September 7, 1976) and daughter Kate (born April 19, 1979), both actors as adults as well. Russell was married once from which marriage he has a son, Boston, (born February 16, 1980). Hawn and Russell became an item after filming Swing Shift in 1983 and together have a son Wyatt Russell (born July 10, 1986). Though they never married, they have been together since 1983 and with all their offspring, form the perfect, blended, family.
This is 1 of my favorite Goldie Hawn movies. I also liked her in The First Wife's Club.
Besides Tombstone I another movie I like with Kurt Russell is Stargate.
Thank you for reacting to this classic movie. Both Kurt and Goldie are longtime great actors, and, like everyone has said already, have been a real couple for 40 years. Kurt has been in all kinds of movies, including action, drama, horror and comedy. Most recently he was in Guardians of the Galaxy 2 playing Star Lord’s father. Another great comedy with him in the lead is “Used Cars”. It has Lenny and Squiggy of “Laverne and Shirley” in it also. Goldie has also had a long successful career, but I’ll always remember her best as the silly dancing girl in “Laugh In” and, of course, as Annie Proffett along side of her soulmate.
Kurt Russell also played Wyatt Earp in Tombstone, which the Rob Squad already watched. In addition to the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, a few classics from the past include Backdraft, Big Trouble in Little China, Silkwood, The Thing and Escape from New York.
I was a kid and didn't get all the jokes on "Laugh In", but I caught some. I didn't realize then what a controversial / leading edge of a show it was until my later years. I enjoy it.
Kurt Russell played Herb Brooks in Miracle. You both being athletes have likely heard of the story and seen the movie. 1980 US beat the nearly-unbeaten USSR in Hockey at the Olympics.
Goldie Hawn stars in Wildcats, another sports movie from the early 80’s. She becomes a school’s football coach.
They have each great careers. Many enjoyable movies from each of them and as a couple.

This is one of my favorite ROM-COMs of all time. You can truly see how much Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell love one another. They are so dynamic together working working off one another. First movie they were in together was swing shift and they were just magic. They both have some phenomenal films I hope you continue watching some of their work
This is literally my favorite movie since I was 8 years old I’m 46 now and the new version with Anna Ferris is very good but this movie will always hold a special place in my heart. It played on TV every Saturday on local channel and I live in rural west coast so it feels authentic
Kurt Russell started out as a child actor. He made an appearance on "Gilligan's Island" when he was only 12-ish. Later on, he starred in Disney movies - "The Computer Wore Tennis Shoes" for one. He's also known for "Escape From New York" "The Thing" and "Big Trouble In Little China" and of course many other movies.

The man who plays 'Joanna's' butler is the late great, Roddy McDowall. He is a cult classic horror comedy movie set titled, "Fright Night" (parts 1 & 2). Those films are so much fun to watch! He plays the character, Peter Vincent, the Great Vampire Killer, lol.
Kurt Russell was Star Lord’s dad in Guardians of the Galaxy II. He’s been in tons of movies, “Escape From New York” is a good one, but “Tombstone” is more serious.

The movie set was all done in a small fishing town called Fort Bragg, in northern California. I was in the same school the class scene took place. memorable moment.

I will watch & rewatch an older/classic romantic comedy. It is rare that I even take the time to watch a 2000 rom-com, all the plots are the similar or even the same.

We've loved Kurt Russell since he was a child in Disney movies. Goldie was a regular on Laugh In, a professional dancer. Roddy McDowall was a child actor and it was what made him famous, My Friend Flicka, Lassie Come Home (with child actress Elizabeth Taylor.) Katherine Helmond, the rich mother here, was a great favorite of ours in the sitcom "Soap." This is a great movie and I watch it often. You might see Kurt in the Thing, Escape From New York.

I used to live in the harbor town where this was filmed-- many, many, moons ago. Good memories and the set people didn't change much (but the names of businesses, of course). So nice to see.
Pee Wee Herman was an 80's personality (like Elvira, Mr. T or Hulk Hogan). It was a character created and played by Paul Reubens, a comedian. Pee Wee had a stage show made like a kid's TV show, but was for adults, but later got an actual kids TV show, Pee Wee's Playhouse.
His movie, Pee Wee's Big Adventure, directed by Tim Burton, should definitely go on yalls watch list. :)

I'd love to see a sequel of this movie - what they do with the money. My bet is they build a large cabin or lodge rather than a glitzy house, and they run a miniature golf chain and construction company. They live happily ever after.

In the beginning of the movie he poured the alcohol on himself and acted like a drunk pig so he could drive her out of the room…I think.
Also, he picked the perfect fake name for her because Annie is a nickname for Joanne, so it shouldn’t be hard for her to transition.

You guys should definitely react to Pee Wee's Big Adventure. It was Tim Burton's first big movie before Beetlejuice, Edward Scissorhands, and the Batman movies. I loved all of them growing up.
You've Got Mail is still my favorite rom-com. I highly recommend it if you haven't seen it before. Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan were always magic on screen together.
I've said this before to you guys, but this is another great movie that transcends genre. Meaning even if you don't usually like rom-coms, this movie is so good you have to like it regardless.
Kurt Russell & Goldie Hawn were in a relationship for 4 or 5 yrs when this film was released. They also had an infant son at this time. Y'all may remember Kurt Russell from Tombstone as Wyatt Earp. They did a great job with this movie.
Another great movie to add to y'all's list is one with Patrick Swayze titled "Road House". Also stars Sam Elliott & Jeff Healey (did a duet with SRV) in the "caged" band. It's listed as an action thriller.

Okay guys fun fact about this movie. I was stationed in the Coast Guard in Fort Bragg California where the majority the movie was filmed. There is no town in Oregon called Elk Cove. At the end of the movie that is my Coast Guard Patrol boat that chases the yacht

I laughed when you thought Kurt Russell was Patrick Swayze. Also Uncle Buck was John Candy, this guy is Mike Hagerty, he grew up in my neighborhood in Chicago. Kurt Russell has been acting since he was a kid in the 1950's. His best role was Wyatt Earp in Tombstone and this movie Overboard sparked his relationship with Goldie Hawn. They have been together I think for almost 40 years and had a child together.

Kurt Russell is such a versatile actor from comedy (Captain Ron, The Computer Wore Tennis Shoes), thrillers (Tango and Cash, Death Proof) to science fiction and horror (The Thing, Escape From New York, Soldier, Big Trouble In Little China) and westerns Tombstone, and Bone Tomahawk). His wife, Goldie Hawn has done mostly comedies such as Private Benjamin, Death Becomes Her, Bird On a Wire, and Foul Play with Chevy Chase (Caddyshack). Edward Hermann (the husband) was in Lost Boys. Roddy McDowell (the butler) has been in many wonderful movies including the original Planet of the Apes, The Legend of Hell House, the original Fright Night, and The Greatest Story Ever Told.
My all-time favorite comedy is What's Up, Doc? with the wonderful Barbara Streisand and Ryan O'Neal. This is classified as a screwball comedy but there is a romantic storyline as well. It also stars Madeline Kahn as Eunice. I would love to see the two of you react to this. Thanks and Bye.

Goldie Hawn is so incredibly gorgeous! This and Death becomes her and Housesitter were my absolute favourite movies! Her and Kurt Russell famously hooked up on the first date and they are so wonderful together still! Love them!

You would love Moonstruck, starring Cher, Nicolas Cage, and Olympia Dukakis, who was in Steel Magnolias and plays Cher's mother. It was Oscar-nominated for Best Picture and both Cher and Olympia won Oscars for their roles. It's one of my favorite movies of all time.
