I have read from Pakistani websites that people of this land were mostly Buddhists, not Hindus. So they welcomed Mohammad Bin Qasim, who liberated them from a cruel Hindu King Raja Dahir. They happily converted to Islam after it.
Things are not as simple. While there was a point in time when Buddhism indeed was a strong force in the region, there were many regions where Hinduism was thriving. Especially by the time Muhammad bin Qasim came to the shores of the Sindh, Puranic Hinduism had brought a lot of people back to Hinduism. This time was the onset of the historical period that is known as the Hindu Shahi period, and Buddhism had significantly lost its hold over the region by that time.
Hinduism was first religion. Bhuddism came much later. Hindus were killed ; converted or driven out as muslim invaders started coming into Akhand Bharat.

@naveensharma5093 holi ban nahi hui brother. Aik officer ne official platform se message release kia tha jis me she expressed the thoughts of the institute and urged the universities to stop such activities in the future. Although it is extremely unprofessional and must be condemned, it does not mean that Holi celebration is banned per se. But yes, Pakistan continues to struggle with a confused identity, and it keeps manifesting itself in these ways. But we will do better in the future, awareness is increasing, and the old guard of dogma based nationalist narrative will fall soon.

@@simlamaharaj1695 hindusim definitely came first. And it makes sense that many hindus must have been killed and converted as well.

Sahi keh rhe hain aap. Abhi recently thori awareness aai hai logon ko. Katas Raj waghaira ko ab kafi improve kia ja rha hai. Hopefully aage aise aur steps liye jayen ge.
