I trained one session at 10th Planet Burbank and we drilled/learned this set up. Three weeks later, I pop an arm at grapplers quest with this same set up, and about two months later I won a tournament using this system. The arm bar was super tight and amazingly set up! Great shit from Eddie Bravo. I fucking love the 10th Planet System.
I can handle it now, no problem. 300 or so classes later, I've gotten much better at this kind of thing. Old Marvin Hunter was right, he was not ready for this.
icon went for it had em in mission control then I made the tiniest mistake with staying tight while trying to go for chill dog position and he just postured up and smashed me.
It’s an interesting system to say the least. Luckily EVERYTHING is beatable in martial arts in regards to someone’s strengths or techniques. Sometimes by luck and sometimes by strategy.
I've seen the rubber guard completely negate an opponent's striking in the UFC. IMO, the rubber guard and Eddie's system is BJJ evolved. You guys have to remember that there is a huge difference between competition/sport BJJ and practical street or sport MMA grappling.
Watched a joe rogan pod cast before coming here and he was talking about how Eddie was very flexible and could move his legs in crazy ways...sitting here trying to replicate the shit frame by frame, I know what he means now
Hey Eddie, Love the system btw! Only thing is I used rubber guard in an open division, in Jiu- jitsu by the bay recently. The guy I was against was a huge world champ n had 60 pound over me :/ I almost had the gogoplata on him but he blew through my guard popping my knee! I know it was because i wasnt hugging my knee as well as I could have. Anyone out there from 10th planet have any suggestions about keeping your knee safe from injury during rubber guard? I could really use the help. Thanks
I am new to this Jiu Jitsu about a week and I love it ..I am amazed of all the skill ,strength, and wisdom Thank you for breaking down.. Angel from the Bronx.
anyone have video of this stuff being hit on brown/black belts in competition? I'm not trying to be a dick or trying to troll 10p students, I just can't recall ever seeing any on the top 10p guys actually use rubber guard stuff, I know I've seen Nate Orchard do the dead orchard a few times and Richie Martinez seems to go into omoplatas off the rubber guard but thats about it
Ok first off... y dont YOU think before YOU speak.. Eddie beat Royler Grace who had never been beaten in abu dhabi before or since.. how does that make him a joke? He beat a gracie as a brown belt, that makes him pretty damn good in my book.. also U should do some research, EDDIE has been saying he wants to face royler again for years now but Royler repeated backs out.. I have nothing but respect for the gracies, but until Royler mans up and faces him and beats him, im disagreeing with you.
Ok first off, let me start by saying that U DO NOT NEED TO COMPETE TO BE RANKED, i personally do compete. but i kno of a lot of people who are ranked and have never been close to a major tournament... second Eddie has competed... he was the first, and i believe only person to submit Royler Gracie in abu dhabi, and that right there goes to show you have no clue what your talking about...
ive been training this guard for 3 weeks. I feel comfortable in it and get to it often. I just need advice on what to do with my opponent pulling their head out. I guess my legs are squeezing tight enough so they can sort of back up and scooch their head out between my legs. Any advice on what to do besides squeezing my legs more? Like if they scooch out what move should i go to? Thanks so much. Love you all.
esta es una tecnica dada por un ganador de abu dhabi!! q mejor torneo para competir y ganar q ese???? vs royler gracie! fraude? broma!! tu lo q eres es un loco! isntruyete!
Rubber guard works for me. Especially effective when no go. I am very flexible. Some of the other guys on my gym can't use it, no flexibility. It is what it is. Ty for the bids.
I heard Eddie say this on one of his other rubber guard videos. Not many people are flexible enough to get in mission control do they don't even bother with it.
I don't know how invisible collar choke was ever possible without the double bag. How could a person not escape when you were going for the reattach to finish the invisible collar choke.
+Trilce They could escape while you're clearing the head. I think he was only showing for the sake of demonstration without the double bag. Also if you're wearing a gi you can go from the opposite collar straight into the invisible collar without clearing the head.
It was a big show to make money it was never going to happen. Eddie didn't even bother trying to get in shape for it. He beat Royler and made a business of it living off that one fight. It was inevitable that he would lose at some point who doesn't.
I'm new at juijitsu but this arm bar doesn't look tight to me, the elbow isn't deep in between the legs, it looks like the guy could pull his arm away the second you attempt the armbar
I keep practicing this but because my gym is traditional gi, my professor keeps trying to help by giving me high gaurd techniques. On no Gi days though my coach knows what's up.
yea eddie didnt bother to get in shape for it because Royler never accepted and when he did he asked for an amount of money that no grappler has even come close to making. And from what I understand, Eddie is the ONLY person to beat Royler. A person who can beat Royler can definately teach.. You think all instructors have competed against top level competitors?.. the fact that eddie has beaten someone as good as Royler, proves that eddie damn sure knows what he's talking about. and is legit
What's stopping the guy in the guard from slamming you like rampage did to Arona? He's not just going to let you do that... ? Just a question.. Look into it!
That's what I said, but you have to have flexibility that most people don't have. Eddie's techniques are over complicated and if his techniques are so great why do all the 10th planet guys get smashed??
@solaris17tim Opoplatas are easy to escape. But no doubt, its good to keep that in mind incase your other attepmts fail. Always good to have an answer to someones potential counter to whatever it is you are trying to apply on them.
I would recommend really stretching everything out immediately before your match, get warmed up and stretch out if u plan on using the rubber guard.. if u go into your match all cold and tight injuries are probably more likely to happen.. its the same with anything accidents can always happen, but if you stretch out it can seriously reduce injury
Rubber Guard is good stuff I use it all the time and I go to a GI school. Its is one of those thing if you don't drill a lot and don't try a lot when you roll, don't use it live or at grappling tournament, a bad rubber guard is the most easiest guards to pass but if you have it down good its great to use!
Would you be able to armbar the left arm if you were to rotate it grip it with you lat and get your forearm wrapped around the near the back of the elbow and flex out your hips from mission control?
2:25 "It requires flexibility" because everything done earlier doesnt lol? Dont know why, just made me laugh as he said that while looking like he was in a knot
It could be that the amount of training it requires to maintain an elite level Jiu-Jitsu skill set detracts from the training time spent on stand-up, weight training, cardio, etc.
I trained one session at 10th Planet Burbank and we drilled/learned this set up.

i just wish the names for his moves weren't so stupid
Trilce lol I agree, but they're just names.
+Jay Vee (MrTectonicFusion) Filthy Frank is a beast.
@@mkn.567 the names are key hahahhaa , double bag em boys.
@@mkn.567 you try not naming them stupid names when stonned
The guy at the end doesn't look happy. He's like, "Why in the hell did I take this job."
Lmao
Grow Pot Cheaply he tapped verbally. i think he couldn't tap with his hands and it got cranked
He sounded like a goat when his neck got bent
terrible joke
Thats Scot Epstein, he always looks like that lol
like a Mexican octopus
+GuitargasmicWizardry mexi-pus
like a mans anus
Legend says Eddie Bravo still hasn't aged a day since he made this video😉
Eddie IS the legend
Umm i appreciate the respect but no
I'm way too stupid to ever remember all that....
....maybe I'll re-look at it someday when I get more Jits brains
+Marvin Hunter lolol yes
Has that day come yet?
Muscle memory is more important than actively trying to think your way through it one step at a time.
I can handle it now, no problem. 300 or so classes later, I've gotten much better at this kind of thing. Old Marvin Hunter was right, he was not ready for this.
Rumour has it they call him Marvin "arm" hunter these days the evil rubber guard sourcerer
Lol watch it again
This video is 4:20 long. I see you, Eddie.
+Bignumberz lol im glad i wasnt the only one to notice.
Technically it’s 4:19 , because conspiracy and shit
Look it up.
@@yinyang5526 I take it you yourself study in BJJ?
T҉w҉i҉z҉d҉e҉d҉ L҉i҉o҉n҉ it’s 4:19 for everyone . TH-cam isn’t going to show different times for different people .
Look into it
What happens if he has 3 friends and they all have flamethrowers?
Don't use rubber guard just run.
It’s now vulcanized rubber guard.
Step 1 pull guard
Damn eddie bravo is a genius i think he made his own version of jiu jitsu.
hey baby
He's a genuis strictly only when it comes to jiu jitsu.
just tried rubber guard today for the first time today against a brown belt. it did not end well for me
Jaime Almeida tried against a purple. Results were for similar.
icon went for it had em in mission control then I made the tiniest mistake with staying tight while trying to go for chill dog position and he just postured up and smashed me.
icon he put my loose leg behind his head passed to side control and finished me with a kimura. twice.
Jaime Almeida we suck, It does make omoplatta sweeps easy though. And in mma I can keep him at bay better than a regular guard.
It’s an interesting system to say the least. Luckily EVERYTHING is beatable in martial arts in regards to someone’s strengths or techniques. Sometimes by luck and sometimes by strategy.
Dude, eddie bravo is the shit. Can't wait to transfer to 10th planet soon
I've seen the rubber guard completely negate an opponent's striking in the UFC. IMO, the rubber guard and Eddie's system is BJJ evolved. You guys have to remember that there is a huge difference between competition/sport BJJ and practical street or sport MMA grappling.
Thing is unless you are made of rubber Eddie's techniques are just not very realistic.
Video is 4:20 long
Nice
first real BBJ instructional video i have ever watch and omfg. THAT RUBBER GAURD!!!!
god damnthats insane
but i thought we were talking about the brazilian blow job technique.
Watched a joe rogan pod cast before coming here and he was talking about how Eddie was very flexible and could move his legs in crazy ways...sitting here trying to replicate the shit frame by frame, I know what he means now

I know this was 10 years ago but you angle yourself outwards more and use your hip as a fulcrum so the pressure is off your knee
Love that sigh @ 4:11
I am new to this Jiu Jitsu about a week and I love it ..I am amazed of all the skill ,strength, and wisdom Thank you for breaking down.. Angel from the Bronx.
Eddie wearing a grappling short, woah!
he's right though.. headbutts pretty much render bjj useless
How do you defend against chemtrails?
I feel like i need to surgically remove my knees to do this.
Oleg C you forgot to stretch 4 hours a day and get surgery to replace ligaments with rubberbands
anyone have video of this stuff being hit on brown/black belts in competition? Eddie beat Royler then lost his next match and has never competed since. Go do some research before you speak please. Eddie is a JOKE!!!
Be so sick if Tony Ferg. Tied Khabib up in a gnarly runner guard trap!! SO SICK!!

My meniscus popped just watching Eddie move his legs
whenever eddie bravo does long pauses i have the feeling he has no idea what he is going to say next, so he just makes something out the blue..
Guys whenever you use the rubber guard, stay tight and think about moving inch by inch closer to the win you want.
esta es una tecnica dada por un ganador de abu dhabi!! q mejor torneo para competir y ganar q ese???? vs royler gracie! fraude? broma!! tu lo q eres es un loco! isntruyete!
that is a cool move but it seems like there is just a lot of extra steps compared to just windshield whippering from a high guard.
Rubber guard works for me. Especially effective when no go. I am very flexible. Some of the other guys on my gym can't use it, no flexibility. It is what it is. Ty for the bids.
Is the Invisible Collar really necessary? Couldn't you just skip that phase?
ofcourse you can but why skip an opportunity to tire your opponent out and break his soul
Eddie is a joke and fraud. How do you get ranked when you don't compete?
Haha, gotta love Eddie's simultaneous toe-rolls/curls at 3:28 :D
Pfffffff maybe you should watch his students kick ass in tournaments with this style B B Billy Boy!
Im convinced you have to be built for this shit. And then you put your foot behind your head and spin. No.
Fitting that an Edgy Bravo video be 4:20 minutes long.
Did anyone else notice it's 4:20 long 😂
Thank you for your crystal clear explanation.💪😎🇺🇸
fucking love rubber guard attacks
What type of tatami do you use? I'd like to buy one of those, thanks for the video.
don't be silly that's why he has had over 3 knee surgery this year alone. he is living in the now not long term be smart.
practiceing this Tonight and for the rest of the week!!!! :D
@Ostgrindarn eddie bravo didnt invent it nino schembri did mind fuck
this stuff is going to save my life one day, thanks eddie.
Why isn't this more successful in mma?
I heard Eddie say this on one of his other rubber guard videos. Not many people are flexible enough to get in mission control do they don't even bother with it.
Tony furgeson (spellings wrong) he's incorporated it very well
Has anyone else noticed that Scott Epstein always looks pissed?
man this is great what happened to thsi channel hasnt posted in 7 years...
yea and eddie says, 'step 1', break posture.
no more effective headbutts
Wait you're not practicing on a hot girl this time ?

I like how he teaches moves but has never used em in competition. Oh wait he hasn't competed since brown belt and when he beat royler.
Noob question here. Why can't you just pull straight back out of the invisible collar? Looks possible. I must be missing something.
I keep practicing this but because my gym is traditional gi, my professor keeps trying to help by giving me high gaurd techniques. On no Gi days though my coach knows what's up.

Eddie is a wizard?
If you are flexible enough, at 3:50 can you triangle your legs, with your still in the same position, and do an almost head in arm triangle
Scott Epstein
Anyone else get wrist pain when trying invisible collar? Or is it just me with my weak ass wrists?

While in the rubber guard E FU dictates repeated power knees to the chodal region.
What if opponents left hand is outside of your right thigh?
2:25 "It requires flexibility" because everything done earlier doesnt lol? Dont know why, just made me laugh as he said that while looking like he was in a knot
Holy sheeesh
not sure if I'm more amazed from the names or the effectiveness
Beautiful
And I'm the only one who guessed the other arm was getting arm bar?
Does anyone know what move you go to if he's blocking your forearm, like he says at about 2:00?
So tight
I find it Easyer to trap that right arm with an overhook before going to mission controll ..
Too good
It could be that the amount of training it requires to maintain an elite level Jiu-Jitsu skill set detracts from the training time spent on stand-up, weight training, cardio, etc.
Anyone else think it ironic that this video is 420 and Eddie loves weed lol
poor guy...its like beated up at the end lol
i remember dan severn using head butts against Royce gracie. remind me... how did that match end?
What if his left hand is on the mat or not tied up as in the video.
