Absolutely a much needed and very cool dynamic to have on the island. Just think of all the new possible encounters. Maybe even clashing fights of the TEC1 and the mutants you can stumble upon. BUT... nothing will work right if the spawning is bonkers. They need to be actively roaming on the map or spawn into the world on like at least a 200m or longer proximity. quite honestly I would say the same with the puppets but lets be honest. They most likely wont upgrade it when their update was actively trying to bring the spawns closer and closer. Really tried my best to go back to the game with the latest update but that came with some new issues once again when it comes to building. But at least they added some good as well. It just wasn't enough. Puppets continuously spawning right beside, behind or in front of me or endlessly coming from the same spot just isn't a game I would ever enjoy playing or would feel immersed in.
Would be good to see this added eventually, 1 thing game currently is missing in its current stage of development is a level of risk, having NPC that can hunt a player/player base would add this especially if both tec NPC and new puppets/mutants are eventually added. Along with natural issues (broken bones, diseases ect). It would be nice to see them eventually add to the danger of wildlife. Having wolfs/bears spawn and just sit in front of you gets a tad boring lol
Hellriders Update. Never realized the NPCs they talked about, and then eventually removed the content of it and only recently brought the dirt bike back.
If we get a double update before full release and have both the tribe people and the npc with guns i can guarentee SCUM playerbase will skyrocket imidiatly.. a small rework like adding the birds back again and a rework on the medical system and then we got the base game ready and all they have to do is to add small touches here and there afterwards
Maybe the hunters will most likely hunt at night when you're at least expect it and you have to be quiet and stay hidden, maybe they can hunt in large groups, who knows maybe we will have nights like Dying Light xD
So no ranged attacks? I hope he at least has some better A.I. so that he tracks the player and does not rush straight forward at the player like a puppet, but sets up jump-scares and ambushes against the player.
Haven't played in well over a year. I bought in really early but just can't seem to like the game. I want to, so I'll probably reinstall soon and give it another try.
First they tried robots, then mutants, then tec1 official hunters and now this far cry primal stuff. Animals too other players npc's... You gonna get shot out while parachuting down the world.
As if they're capable of developing an advanced ai on this dated engine... I'd be pretty surprised if it's gonna be anything more than the dumb ai in Deadside. And of course server performance will be the excuse as always.
Idk what problem people are having with puppets. Either you guys have fucked up your puppet settings, or you are just trying to excuse your fuck ups by saying "oh yeah it's the puppet system, it's totally not me who is shit at games". Because honestly, on vanilla settings the puppets are a non-threat. I'd like to see a server setting slider for each individual type. because right now if you increase the slider, you get more of EVERYTHING including suicide puppets. Suicide puppets are not a problem to deal with, but they do provide more loot for high end pvp'ers to raid with, so increasing puppet count will give high end players more gear that they can use against low skill players. A slider that allows you to increase regular puppet count without touching suicide puppet count would be ace. The way they spawn probably needs polishing but it's not "broken". People are just complaining about puppets to complain at this point and it's doing my head in with how fucking much the scum community complains rather than learning and understanding mechanics.
having them spawn in walls, spawn in behind you, spawn in part way in the ground, NOT spawn in and OVERLY spawn in. you're trying to say your one experience overrides the years of experience people have not only playing the game but also being server admins (some of us). complaints by the mass are there for a reason. you don't have to believe them, but you're the ultra minority, and that's not how bug fixing works. too many videos have come out displaying how broken the spawning system is, but we'll probably all just believe your one experience because you used the word "fuck" a few times. 🤣

Bears, wolves and even goats used to be a lot more dangerous in the game. I had a goat butt me to the ground once.
The scum devs have a lot of Dreams. But I am still waiting to see some of it in action..... So i can't get excited

Its more that the hitbox is not correct, they walk in walls, 50% underground.. stuff like that
