    The improvements they made were so on point with what we were having issues last year. They really did a great job.

    Very thorough explanation, Katie! We love using Fix It Grammar. I’m combining my 4th and 6th Grader on Book 2 for now. 😊

    Thanks! This helps! I had planned to get it for my 6th grader this year but last second picked up daily grams. While I do like it, she doesn’t love it, so we may switch to fix it grammar. I was wondering where to start her, so you helped me figure that out!

    Hi, i have a question. So when do we read the story found in the appendix? Read before the lesson? Or after? I got the mowgly fix it

    • @LifeintheMundane
      @LifeintheMundane  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      So your child is editing that exact story all year long just one line at a time. The include the story in the appendix all together in case kids want to read it from beginning to end more easily. I don’t require it but let them do it if desired after they finish the book but you could have them do it at the beginning of the year too.

    Do you need the grammar cards to use the grammar curriculum? Looking into using nose tree.

      You don't have to have it but they are nice

    Thanks for the video! Do you have a specific dictionary you'd recommend they use?

    • @LifeintheMundane
      @LifeintheMundane  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      This is the one that we use and IEW recommends amzn.to/45zA3Oi

    I got the Nose Tree Curriculum, but I compared it to the ABeka 3rd grade LA curriculum and Abeka goes into a lot more content, including diagramming sentences. Would my child be behind switching to the fix it Grammer curriculum? I think they would actually enjoy the fix it Grammer more. Abeka has so much information, I don't know if a lot of it is actually sinking in. If we go with Fix It Grammer, do we need to do anything else to supplement for Language Arts?

    • @LifeintheMundane
      @LifeintheMundane  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      This program is very different then Abeka but very through. It’s always best to start at Nose tree because it starts out simple but grows in difficulty quickly. I will say though if you bought through IEW’s website though there is a 100% money back guarantee so if you try it and don’t like it you can return it which is nice.
      As far as the language arts question, this is a complete grammar course but it only covers grammar and vocab. Depending on your philosophy you would also need to add spelling, literature, and possibly writing (I personally wait on writing till middle school).
      I hope that helps! I will say the customer care line at IEW is phenomenal and if your unsure of placement in the program feel free to reach out and they can help you.

    You are so great, and I loooove your videos! Thinking about beginning this with my rising 3rd and 4th grader (they both would do Nose Tree together). Kinda' a silly question, but which/what kind of dictionary would you recommend? :)

    Do they need to go through the previous books if we wanted to start at Level 3? I might need to look into this for my will be 6th grader next year.

    • @LifeintheMundane
      @LifeintheMundane  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would still recommend starting at level 1

    I have 2 kids (upcoming 4th & 5th grade) both have special needs. Would you recommend this curriculum? We also do AAS & AAR.

    • @LifeintheMundane
      @LifeintheMundane  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You could do it depending on the need but I would be very hands on with them and maybe even consider doing it all together

    Do you use this with your son who has dyslexia? Planning ahead for my dyslexic guy.

    • @LifeintheMundane
      @LifeintheMundane  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I use it with two of my kids who has dyslexia but there dyslexia is more mild. I have not started using it with my severely dyslexic kiddo yet but I’m thinking I may start him off in it in January or maybe next year but it will require me to help more with him.

    I started this in 2nd grade and we made it to week 6 and we think its just too hard for my daughter. Its even too hard for me. I make a copy and try to fix the sentence with her and man I get just as confused. I think it's time to set this aside and pick it back up in the later years.

    • @LifeintheMundane
      @LifeintheMundane  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes, IEW recommendeds it to be started in 3-5 grade and I personally don’t start until 4th or 5th

      @LifeintheMundane thank you for this!!!!!! I was just looking up stuff and I think 4th is a great time to start! I think I may go back to some Evan Moor!
