The group is from a company called XGALX which aims to build a global group. Tho, the members are Japanese but their genre isn’t jpop. Many of them know Korean and English so they aim for a global presence.
It is intentional. That repeating simple bass rhythm you are hearing, that is making you want to dance sitting in your chair, is a Latin beat, a 'son clave'. Instantly recognizable to Latin music lovers. Essential backbeat for Latin music. A lot of people say that it is too simple, 'Why don't they change it up?' I think it is perfect. Spanish comments all over this M/V.
The newer kpop releases have definitely numbed the public into thinking noise and messy beats = great song, but that’s just not true. As “simple” as the instrumental is, these girls more than make it up with their amazing vocals, the non rookie like charisma and YALL THE LYRICS?! Finna was used right! IT WAS USED RIGHT FOR ONCE!

I thought it was a well conceived debut. All the 'flash' came from the members: their confidence, their delivery, their vocals, the choreo... Understated instrumentals, lots of wide, steady camera work to let the audience focus on the subject. Really smart. I knew nothing about them before the MV dropped, hadn't seen or heard any of the hype. They got my attention.
