The Wedgewood Institute, what a beautiful example of Victorian architecture, hidden and tucked away on what is now a side street of a commercially depressed area, very sad.
Yes it was Royal Doulton Headquarters and where they made figurines plus other stuff. Very significant spot the Titanic Brewery is in nearby Linguard Street. The Wedgwood Institute building was so-designed by Rudyard Kipling's father.
@@DarylPritchardvideos Burslem also used to have a good live music scene back in the 1980s with regular gigs at pubs such as the Bowler Hat. I don't think the street market will ever be as big again as it was in the seventies though. I also remember there was a popular Indian restuarant there as well called The Kismet.
Ok you did a thing on Wedgwood you mentioned the red lion pub but didn't say anything about the building on the left to it was Wedgwood house 🙄 . The leopard pub is one of the most hunted pubs in the uk . And a documentary was done on it . Maybe you can do one about the wich of Burslem ?
What time was it filmed because there is usually far more traffic passing thru Burslem. I am from Burslem originally and still live in Stoke on Trent . Burslem is very close to my heart .
@@DarylPritchardvideos Thank you Daryl for your reply. I should have realised and waited until the end of the video when you were by the Vale and said no football had been played. Many thanks for the video. Just shows what superb buildings there are in" Boslem" but so sad to see all of the empty shops and boaded up buildings.
I am a Stoke lad who escaped. Thank god for that. Stoke is a shell of what it used to be. Very very sad.
Wow thanks for the comment please subscribe it would help us out thanks
Thanks for the video. Shame Burslem is now an abandoned, 90% derelict, town. Our poor mother town, what a way to treat you.
Thanks for the comments Simon happy new year
Met my wife there. Now I’m in the south hams. In Devon for the last 40 yrs.
Wow
Brilliant video! Thank you very much 👏🏻 much appreciated
You are very welcome
Many apologies , I mentioned that the land cleared was the old wedgewood factory - it was royal dolton !
Burslem used to be a thriving town until the 1980s.
Nice mix of Georgian and Victorian buildings. It's quite eerie this video is theres nobody around the occasional passing car and gulls.
Thanks for the comment Tom , please subscribe to our channel I would very much appreciate it

Thank you for the information hope you enjoyed the video
Sorry, I wasn't very clear. Yes I lived in Burslem for 20 years and I loved the video, especially when birds flew past the drone!
Fantastic news and yes the birds were close they took off from a near by roof when they saw the drone lol
I think the Wedgewood institute is now the town library.
Back in the 1970s I attended several social events at Swan Bank Methodist church in Burslem.
Excellent , good to hear let’s hope burslem is re generated in the future

More of a memorial these days, nothingness, without point.
