Endangered in the Netherlands

What was once one of the most common european mammals is classed as an endangered species in the Netherlands. Intensive farming and loss of habit are why this is happening. It's shocking and that's why it's so nice to see them living near the railway station in Amersfoort. Unfortunately a new building project planned in this spot will also damage this small patch of undisturbed nature and affect badgers, deer, foxes and rabbits. Legal protection is swept aside when developers get hold of any piece of land in Amersfoort.
