    Props for going for that gap, I won't put fault on anyone. Personally, I wouldn't have gone for it. Let the Teggy and the CRX sort themselves, possibly take each other out in the process and if not, once they got themselves back in line, pick them off one at a time. No need taking a risk like that when you know your car is much faster...but that's just my opinion.

    i have an MGB, but that one seems to be really quick. I'd like to know what was done to it to get that kind of power

    How is the MG driver at fault? It was a clean pass on a legal section of track. In the turn, it is evident that he went wider than normal to give room to the inside traffic (the Accord), which still hit him, probably carrying too much speed in the corner. Tunnel vision on the part of the Accord driver from my racing experience. He was so focused on keeping up with the MG that he didn't realize his car can't corner at as high of a speed, pushed to the outside, and into the MG. Hope eveyone is ok.

      If you watch from the other perspective, you can better see how the MG hit the apex too early. This caused him to brake out of the corner instead of accelerate. In the other video, you can also see how twitchy the driving is. That's probably why the other driver didn't expect him to be on the brakes out of a corner.
      All in all, i think the pass was fine, but he hit the apex way too early and the twitchy driving and sliding made it harder for others to tell he was braking out of the apex.
      (6 year old comment, but I still feel as if I should respond just in case others are watching)

    Just as an FYI, I'm going out on a limb here and going to guess that Chris Deyo is related to Dan Deyo, the driver of the red Integra that climbed over the front of the MG.
    As a racer, I hate to see stuff like this, when two cars that aren't in the same class get together and wreck. Pity.

      That said, the MGB was in a different, faster class but the Integra seemed to go out of his way to shut the door in every corner once the MGB caught up to the group. If he played nice the MGB driver could have gotten by clean and everyone would have had a better day.

    That was too aggressive. I don't think he should have made that last turn 3 wide so late into it. He was barely able to make it when he was by himself and had the optimal line and he should have read that the Integra was at the limits of it's crappy FWD capabilities with it's own pass going on.

      He dive bombed into that corner. No patience .

    OMG, I drive an MGB and I could tell, you were so on the limit of adhesion in some places. think MGBs give you so much feed back.

    This has the look of a practice or qualifying, not a race; there is very little urgency shown by the other drivers. The POV driver has a bit of work to do regarding his lines..... big margins at track edge before turn in etc. He did bang the Armco in his first spin. Going off track, hitting something hard, cutting through the grass, losing his rear view mirror; poor judgment to not pit and check things out, making sure the air dam or fender isn't cutting down a tire. Weird stuff happens when a car leaves the track and the driver can be the last to understand something is wrong. The pass was ill advised, going 3 wide and leaving no room for the other drivers. It is the duty of the over taking driver to complete a clean pass. Diving into the apex and forcing the other 2 cars wide will not earn anybodies respect. He needs to take a deep breath, remember this is a hobby and everybody wants to drive their car back on the trailer in one piece. Stuff will always happen in racing, but level heads and mutual respect keeps it fun and challenging for everybody. Wannabees are a cancer on the sport.

    I think the crash all started with a just a slightly missed perfect downshift into corner one, yes?

    I watched the video taken by the Integra… why would the MG driver so aggressively pass two cars fighting for position in their respective class? If you start at the back with the fastest car on the grid in a multiclass session the very least you *must* do is be courteous and not muscle your way through slower cars trying to race. This isn’t a blue flag situation, nobody has to make space for you as you’re the reason you’re starting from the back and not further up where you belong.
    I guess if you isolate the incident to the specific time of contact the “fault” lies with the Integra driver, but when you go three wide on a track like LRP it’s kind of hard to find any sympathy for the MG driver as it was their decisions that created the conditions necessary for he incident to occur in the first place. It’s like people who purposefully start at the back on iRacing who then get mad when a slower, less skilled driver runs into them… no shit man what did you think was going to happen?

    i noticed some comments about the mg having a clean race,??? he spun, alone, in the same spot. INTEGRA not accord was not taking turn too fast, was following line under complete control, impact was not to rear of mg but front passenger, in car video from integra is up and posted on my channel.

      Exactly right, the guy coming from behind was smooth and composed.. the guy in this video is oversteering like crazy and couldn't hold on to the extremely risky pass he made.. no sympathies.

    From a nobody that knows nothing;
    That MGB is fast as hell! You guys drive like you're going for the gold! Seemed the MG got looser as the race went on, and the driver is fearless.
    He seems to turn in early, a lot.

  • @mikeboothbayregister1001

    The MGB driver appears to have started at the back in a fast car. He might have quick hands going for him. He doesn't seem to have a clue about anything else. His lines are poor and his racecraft is poor.

  • @brucegasque1384

    Surely seems like the MGB driver, who had already lost it once due to some overcorrection going into turn 2....and sliced his way thru pit out passing the THE TEG....going into turn 1....May have gotten a case of oversteer again drivers left in turn 2, just as the TEG was trying to pass.Seems like kind of crazy driving in a regional race!!

    About Big Bend, if you brake early enough to be back on the power as he did, you're braking too early. Gotta be able to smoothly transition from braking to cornering. BTDT. It is way smoother there now.

    MG already made the pass, he got a little loose coming out of the turn, and was hit from the REAR by the Integra. On what planet is this the MG's fault and how many light years away is it?

    • @MinecrafterPiano
      @MinecrafterPiano 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Watching this video, it just looks like he was nailed by a car coming in with too much speed (That wasn't going to make the corner anyways), but watching the other perspective, I can't blame in on either. The MG's twitchy driving (from what I can tell) made it difficult for the integra to tell that he was braking out of the corner rather than accelerating.

  • @bshepa9502
    @bshepa9502 10 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    NOT the Mg's fault at all!! He had more than one car length going into the turn from being able to brake later than the Integra. Dude in the Integra is just pissed and caused an accident. It's Rubbish driving like this that makes me not want to race SCCA, not because of anything more than if that was me in MG, I would have wanted to beat the snot out of the poor loser!!!

  • @seancoxe3577
    @seancoxe3577 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Looks to me like it's more car than he is driver (common among rich amateur racers in SCCA), and he couldn't handle what looked like serious understeer in his car. Also, it's not coincidence that the last view out over his bonnet are the tracks in the turf that he left the last time he took the turn too fast.

  • @yangliu4373
    @yangliu4373 11 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I don't think it's MGB's fault. There's a gap in turn 1, he went for it. And leave enough space for these two cars. Things happens in racing, that's what makes racing great

    Three wide really that was all his fault I think that driver was just irritated from the first pass he did on him. This time I just drive it out to take them both out.

    You should have been black flagged when you did not come in after contact. Classic error on big bend. Maybe you would have avoided the second incident.

    • @belknapdlg26
      @belknapdlg26 8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Black flagged for what exactly? Just an off course adventure nothing was wrong. He did exactly what he should have done, get your ass back out there quickly and get on with the race.....black flagged my ass. The problem was with the red ricegrinder, that's the numbnuts who should have been black flagged for not holding a line, he was all over the place.

    Unsafe driving and pushing a car past its handling abilities time and time again and causing a wreck us a pity. Three laps prior to wreck you spin off in the same exact spot, doing the same thing that caused the wreck, I saw many times when you were barely in control of your car. Its obvious your car could not handle turn 2 at the speeds you were taking it, and passing using pit exit and almost going off drivers left trying to hold too much speed was some over aggressive driving.

  • @chrisdeyo3429
    @chrisdeyo3429 11 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    You shoukd learn how to control your car before going back oyt on the track, very unsafe driving.
