The front room looked just like my nan and grandads and I remember sitting there as a child back in the 50s staring at the hot coals and logs and listening to the crackling noise it made... Better than watching TV... Such lovely memories.
Nice idea lol, But it has a line around the bath tub which was the fill line and the cover was to keep it warm I think as all members of the family used the same water.
Great video, but truly made me nauseous. Shame, would love to have been able to get through the entire thing:-(. It's very fast and way too much movement of the camera.
The tab rug in front of the fire i remember my mun and dad making them. thank you for making a happy man feel old 😅
You're welcome

Yes, I agree. It was my very early days. Thanks for watching !
Had to slow it down to 50%. Shame, because the music was lovely, but at full speed I was getting whiplash.
Very sorry for that, hope you still enjoyed it !
Compromise. 0.75 speed & the music is still acceptable.

Where a bouts is this place?
It's in a place called "Kent Life" which is near Maidstone in Kent. Here is a link to their Website : kentlife.org.uk/
I wonder if the reason for the cover on the bathtub was in case of bombing you could jump in and pull the cover over yourself..?

@@KentEnglandTravel Ah, okay was just curious...
@@nunyabizness199 That's ok , hope you enjoyed it !
@@KentEnglandTravel I did, thankyou ☺
were these cottages used as temp shelter for bombed out citizens?
No, this is how people would have lived in cottages during the war. These kind of homes are mostly in rural areas of the country.

Sorry!

What was your hurry? Were you afraid the Nazis were coming?
