I believe there's a common misconception that we aren't allowed to own OTFs here in California but we can we're just not allowed to carry. While that's also ridiculous we can own them but they did make it hard for us to attain.
Yeah, the full jimping on the Dacian is a real game changer alright. Sharply angled stress points on the entire back of the blade is a really stupid idea. I also love that they don't ask about any of the price points.
How does Benchmade still have government contracts with their ridiculously high product costs, when other knife companies make knives at much more reasonable price points?
The knife community really needs to come together and boycott Benchmade because of their ridiculously high prices that just keep getting going up(11% price increase started on 1/1/2025). I honestly think that a serious boycott is the only way to get Benchmade to finally lower their absolutely insane prices👍
@davidgarrett5671 I can afford to buy Benchmade knives, I just decided to no longer buy them because at this point, Benchmade's prices are just ridiculous when compared to the cost of other American made knives.
I want to know what the two Benchmade flippers were, the red and the purple. They were the second ones in from the left side. In the case, what are they? Why won't you tell us or are they old and I'm just stupid
Actually it sounds like you are in the crowd that didn't understand that raising minimum wage to $15-20 a hour would affect prices. How's that McDonald's job?
To my knowledge it is very rare that a knife company goes out of business so they must be profitable. For some of these companies I truly don't see how. Do knife manufacturers get government bailouts.
No, and since Benchmade is family owned they don’t have to report sales figures. Same for Ocaso. If you wanted you can probably find SOG sales as GSM was just purchased by a venture capital company. There has been a few knife company’s that shut down in 2024 and it is possible Crucible will be gone in March. They are looking for someone to buy them. Only private sector bailouts are allowed. Knife companies are a small niche market and there would be no reason to do a government bailout.
@@davidgarrett5671 😂😂,jokes aside I worked part time back in the late 80’s in a knife shop who sold mostly black jack, mod , buck and Gerber and the formula to price their knives was ,dealer cost x 2 for store profit x1.30 for inventory ,overhead and stock/fee, basically a $50 knife coming in to the store went out at a $130 price tag , so throw in today cost and prices + inflation and you have current prices. Note the most exotic steel at the time were 440c , 154cm and aus8 among a few other options,so throw in today exotic steels and you get those exotic prices.
Apparently GSM can’t afford to have brand managers that understand the knives and their market demographic. The clips I’ve seen of their reveal for cold steel was dismal as well. Know your products. It’s a modified tanto point with a minor recurve.
No it is a samauri blade with a traditional tanto point. And since he said he had used it in the field to skin an animal I think he knows his products, maybe even better than you. The majority of his manager duties do no include sales and marketing.
On 1/1/2025 Benchmade raised their already high prices by 11% across the board on all of their products😬😡🤬 In July of 2024, I bought a Benchmade Osborne 940 with magnacut blade and burnt copper anodized aluminum handle for $270. Now that exact same magnacut Osborne 940 costs $300 at every online knife retailer, WFT🤢🤮
@davidgarrett5671 I'm just pissed off at how Benchmade already high prices just keep getting higher, yet their quality control/fit&finish isn't improving👍 I was trying to get Benchmade's attention by posting these comments on various videos. I wish someone was paying me🤣
I have a Griptilan and a Bugout.. I love the bugout so much I can't decide to either buy a Bugout with different steel or risk a disappointment in trying a different Benchmade.. the prices are so high... I hate to risk that kinda money
@ I suggest for your next move you go around tagging sidewalks and buildings complaining about Benchmade. You have just as much a chance they will see those. Benchmade has always been higher than others, the term “Butterfly Tax” has been around for at least two decades. Do you also go to car sites and complain about BMW prices being to much and constantly rising? How about computers? And what actual data to you have about their quality? In the price do you factor in their warranty and lifetime sharpening? At least Benchmade is transparent regarding their price increases, for other companies you have to see if you can find the price for last year and see if it has gone up.
@@davidgarrett5671basically every knife company has a solid warranty these days. The life sharp thing is practically irrelevant with how cheap diamond sharpeners have gotten. I don’t have data but I purchased 3 benchmade knives in 23’. ALL THREE had near dull asymmetric secondary bevels. That’s on an Adamas, bailout, and freek, all three being higher tier benchmades and not one of them could shave hair off an arm. Don’t get me started on blade centering. At the same time I picked up 3 Spyderco knives that came SCREAMING sharp with absolute bank vault construction. All 3 were less than the three BM knives I purchased. Stop defending companies like this it’s bad for the entire community when companies aren’t held accountable.

When I first saw the thumbnail, I thought oh that looks like a cool knife until I saw the butterfly on it. Same exact knife by Civivi would cost $99. I haven’t even watched the video yet and I probably won’t but I’m sure it’s like at least $299.😂 it just proves that when someone has a lot of money to throw around, they spend it like an idiot and once they’ve got enough money to spend like $400 on every knife rather than someone that saves up for a long time to buy an expensive knife it just means that they don’t know how to manage money and once they have enough money, they just start wasting it and don’t even think about whether something is worth the price they’re paying
Some people make more money than you do and like Benchmade knives and like to buy USA made. On February 1 Civivi knives will be 10% higher and may go even higher than that. Do you think that Benchmade employees should take a pay cut so you can afford the knives they make. And if someone is making 7 figures per year they can afford these and that doesn’t mean they aren’t managing their money in a way you think they should. Can't wait for that new Bedlam. Looks dope! Always wanted one from back in the day.

I fast forwarded through the Benchmade part because I just couldn’t afford to watch 😂

Some stag covers would be awesome on the bolster bugout
Clipper in wharncliff would be amazing. tanto is good but add a wharncliff with that stout blade stock and id buy it right now
That's sog side opening auto reminds me of the launch one
Get the California switchblade law to 4 inches lol
Just make it a Tool and Legal any type of knife and any blade lenght
Any word on what level of 710 that is that they hinted slightly at? Is it a new release for 2025?
