I love how Jackson "defined" what an "idol" is. He didn't look at it in the way most people do which is the manufactured training system and the company controlled environment, but he defined an idol by what they do, not how they got there. He defined idols by the culture and the work they do, for example, fansigns, hi-touch, variety shows, and so on. The way that k-pop artists communicate with their fans is different than how American artists do. The whole culture of k-pop and the things k-pop idols do is so different than American artists. Not to say that it's better or worse, but you can't compare a k-pop idol's work the same as you would an American artist by saying they're "manufacture" because the way they carry themselves is culturally different.

No but some companies are like that. They don’t let their idols participate in the songs production and if they do they keep very little of what the idol has put in it and it’s sad. Go back to blackpink’s interview with zach and see what I mean

@@thevelvets9347 When I say "manufactured" I don't mean the idols. Of course they are hardworking humans. However, *some* groups don't have creative freedom and their image and sound is carefully created to the tiniest detail by a team to optimize sales. I personally do not care if idols themselves made their own music. If it sounds good, I'll love it. Take BLACKPINK for example. From their interviews, including the one on Zach Sang's show, it's very obvious that they don't get to create or add much to their music. Groups like BTS have the permission to create their own music, but the stereotype comes from restricted groups.

I love that the interviewer doesn't rush him or cut him off and that he's clearly put time into getting to know what Jackson does/has done to some extent. It's very laid-back and the mood is so good. I've seen this interviewer many times and have loved most of his interviews and how respectful he is.
I've never seen a bad interview with Zach. He's always well researched and genuinely cares about making interesting conversation with his guests. My favorite is the one he did with Halsey where they talked about everything from higher education accessibility to sexism.

It's clear he actually cares about his job and the people he's interviewing and that he has a genuine interest as well. I like how he isn't just a copy-paste interviewer that have become so popular with foreign artists. Mad respect to him, will definitely be watching more of his stuff!!
@@pocketsauce4209 Yeah definitely watch more of his interviews! I always come out with a deeper appreciation for the artist, even if I was indifferent about them going into the interview. And he goes deeper into the creative process than most interviewers do too. I remember during his most recent Panic! At The Disco interview he even knew some of the producers and songwriters Brendon often collaborates with, something I didn't know much about even as a longtime fan of the band's music.

This was an insightful interview. Learned so many new things about Jackson Wang. Not surprised he was offered a Stanford scholarship. He carried himself very well throughout the interview. Despite being a global celebrity, good looking, smart and talented, he was very humble and respectful.

He's great the way he interacts with the interviewers. You can only do that when you are fluent in the language & feel secure & comfortable enough. He certainly can hang with the big boys outside of Korea & China. Very few kpop idols can do that ! Jackson you are indeed a global star !
He isn’t a global star, and trust me I’m not downgrading him, I’m just being honest. A global star is someone who will be recognised in every country. And from Korea, there’s only 2 global stars: BTS and blackpink. But maybe in the future Jackson Wang can possibly become a global star.

I almost cried with happiness when Jackson said that his solo work is an extension of Got7, not seperate. It just made me feel like Jackson loves being part of Got7 so much, you know, and he's accomplished so much in China as well with his solo songs. All the members of Got7 are so talented and they've all done so much and come so far. I'm incredibly proud of all of them. Jackson's passion just shines through everything he does. Like Jinyoung said, I believe Jackson can "make history". These boys are going to change the world and I couldn't be happier about it.

Let’s just appreciate how passionate he is with music.
I’ve never heard anyone describe working in a group like colors. He really knows what he’s talking about and cares a lot about his solo work as well a his group work. Jackson speaks very wisely about things he cares about, whether it’s music or his staff.
He is not just a music genius, he is also very kind and considerate. He makes friends with anyone and makes them feel comfortable.
I respect him so much, I didn’t know what it was to have someone to look up to until I found out about him. He’s always talking about doing what he likes and how he has goals for his future. About his plans. Jackson made me realize that by doing what you like it shouldn’t feel like homework, but freedom.
Honestly, seeing his smile and just him being him makes me what to move forward. To make some changes in my life.

I love how Jackson sees a sucess. In a way of: "okay, it's not about the numbers. It's not about the likes and how much people talk about what I did. It's about how much I worked on it, how I put MY heart into it". I feel like it's such a healthy way of thinking. Because in that way, you're protecting yourself from regret and you have healthier way of perceiving things. It's also a confirmation of his greatness. Of how amazing and humble and dedicated person he is. He's so open, and natural and authentic. It's one of the MANY reasons why I feel crazy respect toward him.
