I think a lot of people complain about the performance because when you're dropping $200-$300 on a fragrance you are expecting to get more out of your fragrance than if your dropping $20-$30. Great fragrance that has definitely stood the test of time.
Living in the MENA (Middle East North Africa) Region I found TFPB Oud Wood to be one of my favorites Day/Summer Scent. I've read reviews regarding it's poor longevity but that is not the case ( at least on my skin ) I can get sniff from it, even the day after. The fragrance wears close to your skin and you just go nose blind after 2 hours...but if you walk out under the Emirate sun or moon with the high temperatures... you will smell a clean,creamy,calm,cool, collected and refine Oud scent which is not offensive to others are most of the Ouds out there, which are consider mostly in fragrantica as Fall/Winter scents, yet they are the cultural scent of the Middle East...All year around, even at 140 degrees. We have to take into consideration as well that this Oud Wood and Arabian Wood, were designed and deployed for TF when he opened his store in the Dubai Mall...they are subtle and meant for very high temperate weather.Oud per se is an acquired taste it took me over 3 years to like it. Now, it's the main ingredient I look for in fragrances, if I consider to make any buy blinds.
LOVE this one, just LOVE IT!! Not a 'stinky' full on oud, just perfectly addictive. Can't wait for the cold weather to swing back around so I can wear it again.... but we've still got a hell of a lot of heat to get through first. Great stuff guys.
This is a beautiful scent, and women LOVE it. This is the BEST of tom ford, period. Blind buy this and you will not be disappointed. It is worth the money and more!!

I’m starting to collect some fragrances and I was intrigued on oud perfumes so I purchased TF Oud Wood. All I can say is that it is a legit “rugby” perfume for me - does not smell too nice as a “perfume” but it is addicting to sniff. It smells like a varnish to me.
Well I had 4 decants of the new black bottle and tested it for a long time, I was lucky to get an old bottle for a cheap price. I have to say that the old bottle projects and last so much better! Don't know if it's my skin, but there's really difference. The original is much denser and fuller, it also lasts so much longer (10+). The new black version is fresher to my nose.
I get !0 hrs with the grey bottle Oud Wood and adore this juice, simple yet stunning! I get that tobasco and peppery vibe your talking about and to me it feels like a fine mustard LOL!
Reason to buy this one is Olivia Wilde's reaction to it in an interview.. she said " you smell fantastic, it's incredible, it's really working on me.... Like a magical forest " she really really loved it..
Just bought it today 10.12.16 men I'm in love with it the more I smell it the more I love it.... needed something with a wood spicy notes in it rather than a fresh note like bergamot orange mandarine scent for example.... I'm not disappointed and don't care at all if others doesn't like it to tell the truth.... most people use rather fresh scent or fruity scent depending of course if you're men or women....
When it comes to Tom Ford Fragrances, I have to revisit them because my first day’s take is mostly different than my 2nd day’s take. Oud Wood was one of those TF fragrances. The first time I smelled OW, I couldn’t smell anything. A few months later I tried it again and wowww :-O , it was amazing to my nose! It also performs very well on my skin... I get projection and I get compliments.
Definitly a date fragrance just don't wear too much & apply it 1 hour b4 u pick her up. That will give it enough time for the medicinal smell to tone down a bit and the magical smell to come forward. Oud Wood & Tuscan Leather r "panty droppers" for sure :)
My first real oud fragrance, this smells like disinfectant used to treat wounds lol. I swear to God it reminds me of the dressing used when I used to get my immunization shots. Not a bad smell, it's actually an amazing and classy smell that makes me feel like I own everybody lmao.

TF OUD WOOD is spectacular it has a universal appeal that list of notes is like a greatest hits list I use it also as the beard oil (its very subtle) I have had people recognize this by name! once you smell it you cant forget it gets tons of compliments mostly from men love you guys together we have such similar tastes JIM from MIAMI BEACH

I have both old and new Oud Wood formulation. Same longevity, but old formulation a bit stronger. More sexy pyrosis vibe i feel with old formulation. Brilliant on winter days! New formulation more fresh and better for fall and spring days. And this maybe my favorite fragrance of all time. Sooo sexy!!!

+Homartv dounut - They are different fragrances. TV is much heavier than OW. OW is a very subdued, clean oud. TV is bold and best suited for winter only. OW can literally be worn all year. Yes even during the summer nights since the heat amps its projection. I prefer OW. It's truly a master piece. OW to me is like the EDT version of YSL M7 (also by Tom Ford when he worked for YSL) love them both! :)

I got mine from Bro's split and I love it. But I want to sell it now not because it doesn't last, because it doesn't project. I have not got a single compliment on this as well, I guess people that just wont notice it:-( When my wife realized I am going to sell this she got really sad and surprise because it one of her favorites on me and she knows I really like Oud Wood!!
Somethin crazy I wanted to share - but the TF rep at Bloomingdales in Beverly Hills said that the oud in it was synthetic!! Wow. I told him I realy didn't recognize oud in it all. Hmmm......
Robert Hassler oh yeah, it would have to be synthetic at that price. Oud is so expensive. But don't let buzzwords like "synthetic" deter you. The majority of ingredients in fragrances is synthetic. The important part is how it smells in the end. :)
Vintage Oud Wood = Serious intense wood and best suitable for fall/winter plus the oud woodines is felt deeper and althought not mention in the composition a bit of incense. CAVEAT: totally different scents and i bet my life that it was totally changed and reformulated to the highest degree. Oud wood 2013-0n = Oud wood Sport Version as it's fresher and less intense and more of a everyday scent and year round.
Plus I also think the production costs do not justify the buying price. It's ok to have niche elitism but TOM ford is not niche. Extreme mark up, anyone? There are £10 perfumes that beats certain fords hands down, why does he charge 20 times more?
I have fragrance friendly skin but only get 3-4 hours out of Oud Wood...and it really hugs my skin after 30-60 minutes. I purchased a bottle from Saks (it smells pretty good, but not great) but returned it the following week when it did its Houdini impersonation on my skin (i.e., disappearing act). Overall, a mediocre effort by Tom Ford, IMO, when considering the scent, performance and price. Almost all of my Middle Eastern oud fragrances smell better and perform circles around this one; they bitch-slap Oud Wood, piss in its Wheaties, and treat it much like the Mountain Man treated Ned Beatty on his infamous trip down that North Georgia river. (Lol) Sorry Bros., but I'm giving you my first barnacle encrusted thumbs-down for rating this one Double-Fives. Double-Fives? There is no way Oud Wood is in the same lofty stratosphere as Tobacco Vanille or Tuscan Leather. Okay, I didn't actually dislike this video--and you know I'm just kidding--but the Bros. missed the mark on this one. 3-Stars from me. Sorry!

Yes I get spicy peppery smell on the opening and then drys down to a sweeter almost vanilla type smell.... Love it.
My any day, any occasion fragrance. Versatile without being boring. Yet edgy without being outlandish or off putting. Great review guys.

There is not one single mass-produced fragrance in the world with actual oud in it.
