I love Leslie Grantham he was simply the best actor ever & the press was horrible not letting get on with his life & he did his time so now let him r.i.p
Leslie Grantham WAS Eastenders! Den Watts is a legend, Leslie played him in such a laid back manner, but was always one step ahead of his enemies and too streetwise and smart for them. There will never be another like him. Thanks for years of entertainment. R.I.P Leslie.
Sad that Leslie's real life antics meant that they had to turn Den from being a likable, cheeky-chappy, Jack the Lad, 'loves to hate' baddie who was extremely loyal to his friends and family to a dark, evil, twisted pervert.
@@dandamanyaheard Yeah, it wasn't even like it was the 80's Den and then the 2000's Den because when he returned, he was still the likeable, loyal rogue he always was. It was just when the scandal came to light, they had to destroy his character.
4:28 How much longer will Sharon be in EastEnders before she leaves Walford in a cab once again? Because that's become Sharon's traditional departure each time she's left the show, leaving in a cab.
I always figured Den just didn't want Sharon (his adoptive daughter) to be with his son, as that would make it incest and bring him shame, rather than not allowing her to be with anyone at all. Then again, I didn't watch him the first time around, considering I was far too young to understand Eastenders when he was killed off the first time.
That's how I saw the situation. Den was sickened by the idea of his son and daughter getting together, you could see how much he hated that, especially as he never wanted Sharon to ever feel like she wasn't his daughter. Her and Dennis getting together then means she's not his 'real' daughter and he couldn't accept that.
Yea he was a good dad to Sharon but he was *vile* to Dennis. Unforgivable. That scene where he laughs in Dennis’ face when he worked out that he was abused as a child is horrific to watch.
He was nasty to Dennis, but you can see he truly felt bad about what he said. He never actually knew what Dennis had gone through and was only trying to wind him up. He also took Phil down partly because of the attack on Dennis by the group of them as Phil can't beat Dennis alone.
In the US on The Soap Opera All My Children, Nina Cortlandt's Father Palmer (born Pete Cooney) was always interfering in her Marriage to Dr. Cliff Warner. As a result they married and divorced four times. They left for Colorado and while Cliff never came back to Pine Valley Nina did when her Father died.
2:11 well Den wasn't wrong on what he called Sharon, like the women did have it off with Keanu, a young man who was nearly 30 years younger than Sharon 😂
Except it wasn't "end of" was it? Den's original 'death' was purposely written with a bunch of lose ends and to be slightly dodgy in case a future production team wanted to bring him back one day.
I find it more odd that Sharon, despite being Den’s adopted daughter always saw Den as her dad and she fell in love and had a sexual relationship with her dad’s biological son. Dennis would have had similar looks to her dad and share traits and mannerisms, so I’ve always seen Sharon as the selfish and manipulative weirdo.
he had a weird possessiveness over her. but I don't see any evidence that he wanted to have sex with her. seems more like it was a combination of him not wanting her to grow up because he wanted to preserve the moment where he felt like a dad and him having a need for her to be dependant on him, maybe coz when she did it was the only time he felt worthwhile or something

I loved the way he used to call her Princess 😌❤️.
R.I.P Leslie Grantham
I Loved Leslie Grantham’s acting when he gives a Death Stare to the Queen Vic as if the place becomes cursed when he’s about to die over there 💀
"Hello Princess"
I love the wacko music!!!!

yeah Dens character changed a lot, they were like two completely different characters

Charlie Slater's dead so she'll probably catch the bus
@@bushybeard1135 Well the show's been dead since 2002, so she's not actually 'in' it at all.
Leave "Pigsy " alone I love her 😂
Before there was Max, there was Den

Careful, prophetic words! He damn well isn't your dad. So stupid and utterly unrealistic. Den died in 1989, end of. Show did so 13 years later.

What song is this
My thoughts exactly that starts at the beginning

Den wanted to sleep with his own daughter. He was a real horrible man.
NeonLadyUK he didn't want to sleep with Sharon but it was a really weird relationship they had .
