I read Pines and was good, the suspense was high, and i read Dark Matter this year, already one of my favs, sadly i never finished the wayward pines trilogy, i need to read the third book, i recomend after you finished the trilogy, watch the show, its very good
Holy crap that IT Book is freakin huge!!! It would take me forever to read especially since it's scary!! For some reason it reminds me of Joey from Friends when he puts the scary book in the freezer (it was Cujo in the show) because he was so terrified of it lol. Hopefully you've seen that episode or I just sound like a weirdo... lol
MokaTutu yeah! Rachel was scared of cujo! She'd never seen it before and ended up watching it on her own ;) Joey putting the shining in the fridge always made me want to read it xD and how he ends up spoiling the book for Rachel 😂
I've read and absolutely loved the Serpent King. It's a first book that made me cry like a baby because of one character. Book deals with small town life and religiously obsessed parents like no other books I've read before. In short - it's damn real. I can't stop recommending it. This haul is the greatest. You inspired me to read more.:)
I was the same with a court of thorns and roses! I was so mad but I read a court of mist and fury and I was blown away, it proved my emotions soooo wrong now I can't get over the story it's soooo good
Leviathan wakes is awesome! Definitely takes a while to get into the story, but it just keeps getting better and better as you go along! I'm currently reading Caliban's War (book 2) and am loving it!
The Goldfinch! Sooo good! Outliers! All Our Wrong Today's! It's flawed but a really good take on a sci-fi trope. And Pines is part of Wayward Pines series I believe which was a miniseries or show so you can follow up with the adaptation of you want.
Ive actually started reading IT also.... its one of my first ever huge book and one of my first stephan king novels. I have afew more... i actually bought Christine from a book website called Book Depositry, an Irish website. So cant wait for that!! 😊
So I just discovered your book channel and I love it , just like I love your beauty channel anyway you're one of my favs! Currently reading "It" and finishing up Outliers (I was assigned part 1 as a reading assignment in my Intro to Sociology class but I enjoyed it so much I had to finish the book). Good luck!
The first and only book from Stephen King I've read so far was IT and I enjoyed it. It's not completely just about clowns though, because of the movie that idea got stuck but it's deeper than that
I'm obsessed with The Expanse series, I hope you'll read Leviathan Wakes soon! There's such a rich, violent and realistic world, with a lot of interesting characters and crazy things that blew my mind ! I've read all 6 books that are out, and I'm so in love with the main crew of the series.
I really liked "we were liars." I just finished it a few days ago. I read it all in one afternoon and it's the sort of book that you want to go right back to the beginning to start again to catch all the clues and subtleties.
I also have Leviathan Wakes on my TBR. :-) I try to rotate series and stand alone so I don't get sucked up in more than one series. The Geek Feminist Revolution changed my life!!! Such a good book! I love Dostoyevsky! I would start with Notes from the Underground. It gives a good sense of some of what you see in his other works.
The Wayward Pines Trilogy was a great read. I read all 3 in less than a weekend. It was a great fast paced read. I found myself holding my breathe as read some of the scenes. This will get you out of your slump.
I read A Head Full of Ghosts and it was an interesting book. Definitely wasn't expecting all that happened but I wasn't truly scared by the book. It's more of a psychological thriller than a horror book. It's one you can read anytime and don't have to wait for autumn.
Just found your channel and I love it! Just subscribed! You got some amazing books! I really want to read Wolf By Wolf!!! Simon vs is such a good book and definitely a fast read! It would definitely help with your reading slump! I think you will enjoy it! I love BookOutlet so much! I've gotten so many amazing books from them! Also I LOVE your bookshelves so much! I still have yet to read Six of Crows, it's been sitting on my shelf for a while now😂 Happy Reading!❤️
I haven't even heard of the Leviathan Wakes series. This is why I love your channel, you dont just talk about popular books but books that aren't even in some bibliophiles' radar❤
I really enjoyed We Were Liars. Some of the book was a bit meh while I was reading, but the ending seriously got me and then I had to rethink the entire book. I think it'd make a good summer read honestly.
OH MAN I didnt know JUMPER was a book I so need to pick that one up. It has a cool looking cover. I also loved the movie I like books that have a travel theme in them.
Yes; Notes and The Double is a great place to start. Don't expect much of a plot, but they're amazing books. I sincerely believe The Double was a direct influence on Fight Club. If you like stokes about doubles, check out Nabokovs Despair; it's a wonderful piece of literature (and has elements of thriller)
So many good books! I think six of crows would be good for a reading slump, loved that duology and you definitely don't need to read the shadow and bone triology first (but I think it's recommended? Haven't personally read it...) Also loved the Serpent King, which is not too romance heavy
I read Six of Crows before Shadow and Bone and I was fine! There was nothing confusing and I think both series can stand alone well. Although finishing the trilogy did make me want to reread Six of Crows!
Hello Emily! I have to say, I blame you because you made me obsessed with Brandon Sanderson books and they are so so so big....but still....obsessed. And just like you, I think that first have to read the Grisha trilogy and then Six of crow's even though is not directly related. Grisha trilogy is next on my tbr after first book from mist born trilogy. kisses
We Were Liars is to me a rather summery book. It does take place during the summer and is more mystery than thriller. I recomend you read it during the summer :)
Your last book haul with all of the Stephen King books made me want to read his books again. I just bought five off of book outlet and I'm in the middle of The Shining! Btw I'm pretty sure Nevernight is actually considered an adult book but I'm not positive ^_^
yeeeesss!! six of crowss! i read them without reading the grisha trilogy. actually i haven't read it yet. i want to have all of them before starting reading them and i only have one.
I´m currently reading "A gathering of shadows", V.E Schwab, and the man at the store where I bought it recommended "Six of Crows" when I finished the trilogy. So it gotta be gooood. BUT I have to say..."A head full of ghost" sounds quite interesting, and also "We are the ants" and "All our wrongs today" (haha, just pick one right?!) Too hard :D Love your recommendations and your vibe! Regards a long time follower on both channels!
The Benjamin Button short story is amazing! I wasn't a big fan of the great Gatsby as I found it very long winded even though it had fantastic messages. However Benjamin when he was a child made me laugh so much. He was so sarcastic and loveable 😂
if you like that series with the sequel of that series you bought that was much larger than the prequel (I hope thats descriptive enough lol) but I would recommend the series This world we live in by Susan b pfieffer!
omg,I just picked up this book called the dead & the gone by Susan Beth Pfeffer.I think there are 4 books.I instantly thought this would be your kind of book .It deals with an end of earth and how a family survives it.I'm loving it so far ! More than I thought I would.I have never read this kind of book before.I really hope you see this.let me know if you do.😁
Hi Emily! I loved this video! If you could write the list of books in the description, please, because I find myself pausing the video to add a book to my amazon's wish list. Thank you!
Hyperion is great and is basically a scifi Canterbury Tales. The overall series is pretty good. Notes from Underground is a good introduction to Dostoevsky's works and existentialism, especially if you're intimidated by his longer works. However, it reads like an existential memoir that doesn't have much of a plot. So you'll have to ask yourself if something like that is for you. Granted, it's short. And of course, all his other works are great. Anything from Bill Bryson is amusing and guaranteed to make you laugh.
When you start looking at buying more books try the throne of glass series by Sarah J Maas. It takes a little bit to get into them but I thought they were so much better than the ACOWAR series. A court of mist and fury is the best of that trilogy though.
Emily, you should definitely read "We were liars". I really liked it (gave it 4 stars in Goodreads) and would love to hear your opinion about it and see if you feel the same way I did after finishing it... And when it comes to Dostoyevsky, "Crime and Punishment" is one of his best literary works so give it a try.
We were liars is actually more like an intense contemporary that takes place during summer, so it's the perfect read, if you don't want to wait until autumn ;)
ACOTAR is loosely based on Beauty and the Beast, which you already knew but it is the only one in the series that is. ACOMAF is loosely based on the myth of Persephone and Hades and is AMAZING. I've read ACOWAR and ACOMAF is still my favorite of the series. can't figure out which myth/story it's based on though. if you do enjoy ACOMAF enough to continue, there is less sexy time in ACOWAR.😊
you people who live in an english speaking country are so lucky:( new imported books are REALLY expensive and there is no used book/library book sales. UGH MY MONEY
Just reread It and read Simon vs - both great! We Were Liars - I read a couple years ago and LOVED it! Pines series is okay - you should check out his book Run. What if? was okay for me - but I was expecting more. So You have Been Publicly Shamed and Brief History - very interesting! Goldfinch is definitely a whole lotta book! NOS4A2 - a decent Joe Hill book. The Bardugo books did not blow me away like they did for some other. In my opinion - Head Full of Ghosts was TERRIBLE.I also have Hyperion, We Are The Ants, and Snow Crash on tap. Of all these, I would start with We Were Liars.
I LOVE YOUR HAULS EMILY! So proud of you for becoming a blogger friend! But I must say, I just can't get into Sarah J. Maas novels. I feel like they're so overhyped, and I have a lot of problems with the Court of Blah and Blah series being marketed as YA when they're sex-heavy and full of problematic, abusive relationships. A lot of people are like "oh, i'm trash for these" but I just can't support books that set bad examples of relationships for younger readers and that also lack diversity. Really wish she didn't have so many hardcore fans because I feel like these issues are overlooked.
Hi! You may start reading We were liars! I liked a lot, is a quickly and adictive reading that I think you will enjoy 😉 What if? by Randall Munroe has called my attention, it seems so interesting!
Currently been reading IT by Stephen king, I made it half way and I had to take a break. lol. I would suggest Six of crows. you don't have to read the Grisha trilogy to understand it.
I had the complete opposite effect with ACOMAF. I read ACOTAR and LOVEDDD it. I quickly started reading ACOMAF and are now in a reading slump. What?!?!
I read "A Court of Thorns and Roses" earlier this year and I absolutely hated it. Gave it 1.5 Stars. And then I decided to read the second one... What can I say? I fell in love with it. Now it's my second favourite after Harry Potter! Just forget the horrible first book when you read the second one and you might enjoy it as much as I did
There's something about a big floppy paperback that makes my heart sing!
They're just the best!! :D
I love how you stack the books up behind you once you've finished talking about them! 📚
Words are hard... it was one of those days :P
Which book should I start with?! :D
BookswithEmilyFox That's lot of books :D
Honestly for Dostoyevsky I'd recommend Crime and Punishment, but Notes is quite a good starter as well!
Hyperion!
Pines!! I've never read it but I was a fan of Dark Matter and definitely look forward to your thoughts!
I read Pines and was good, the suspense was high, and i read Dark Matter this year, already one of my favs, sadly i never finished the wayward pines trilogy, i need to read the third book, i recomend after you finished the trilogy, watch the show, its very good
I love your book choices! They aren't all contemporary and they aren't all YA and that is so hard to find on BookTube these days!
I try and mix it up! YA and Adult 50/50 and then try to keep Sci Fi and Fantasy to 50%... but it's closer to 75 lol
this makes me want to buy books but I don't have the space :(. ...does anyone ever hug their book when you buy them? no? just me?
Diana Wodnoff me tooo
The real question is... who doesn't? ;)
Diana Wodnoff get creative, girl! I have a bathroom that is not used to shower, so BAM, small shelves behind the door!
I stroke them and go all Gollum.
Diana Wodnoff hahah, I kiss my books when I get them
Holy crap that IT Book is freakin huge!!! It would take me forever to read especially since it's scary!! For some reason it reminds me of Joey from Friends when he puts the scary book in the freezer (it was Cujo in the show) because he was so terrified of it lol. Hopefully you've seen that episode or I just sound like a weirdo... lol
Actually Joey was reading the Shining.
Barbara Voulgari omg you're so right!!!! I totally forgot! Was Rachel scared of Cujo? Or did I pull that out of thin air?
MokaTutu yeah! Rachel was scared of cujo! She'd never seen it before and ended up watching it on her own ;) Joey putting the shining in the fridge always made me want to read it xD and how he ends up spoiling the book for Rachel 😂
MokaTutu Friends 😍
I enjoyed the Wayward Pines series by Blake Crouch 😊
I've read and absolutely loved the Serpent King. It's a first book that made me cry like a baby because of one character. Book deals with small town life and religiously obsessed parents like no other books I've read before. In short - it's damn real. I can't stop recommending it.
This haul is the greatest. You inspired me to read more.:)
Omg, i bloody love a head full of gohsts! That’s such a great book.

I love the court of thrones and roses. I actually loved the first book!
I have started reading Dostoijevski with Poor Folk. A little novella, but really emotional! I think that's a great way to start too!
A Head Full of Ghosts is gripping! I read it in a day. Might be your way out of your reading slump 😀
I learned Canadian French before American English, you're doing great! Love your book haul 😊
you have to read we were liars! you can read it in summer because it plays in the summer. loved it ! hope you have a nice day :)
Good luck!
Wolf by Wolf is AMAZING. One of my favorites from last year! The sequel, Blood for Blood, is great too. Highly recommend!
The first and only book from Stephen King I've read so far was IT and I enjoyed it. It's not completely just about clowns though, because of the movie that idea got stuck but it's deeper than that
Yeah... It's a lot.
See what I did there?
-It- is
It's
Wolf by Wolf is an amazing read. Go get the sequel too and read them back to back. It's just a duology anyway.
Just started reading it on page 480 now, I love it.
The way you say thriller is so cute
I really liked "we were liars." I just finished it a few days ago. I read it all in one afternoon and it's the sort of book that you want to go right back to the beginning to start again to catch all the clues and subtleties.

Head Full of Ghosts is a great book to start soon. Love your channel. Every book you hauled I own myself. Our book tastes are exact. 🤓
There's an amazing TV show based on 'Leviathan Wakes'. Its called the Expanse. Both the show and the book are great!
Definitely read Nevernight! It's my favourite book of the year so far :)
I was opening my snack when Emily said "grab a snack" 😂 LOL #uncanny
The thing about Sarah mass books for me is that the first one isn't always the best, they are okay, but the second is always so MUCH better!
I loved outliers and want to read more non fiction, social psychology type books because of it. Great video thanks a lot x
Yay!!!!! That's so exciting that you'll be working with Book Outlet!!!!! 😃😃😍
They're already getting all my money haha
The Wayward Pines Trilogy was a great read. I read all 3 in less than a weekend. It was a great fast paced read. I found myself holding my breathe as read some of the scenes. This will get you out of your slump.
That sounds awesome!!
Hyperion is something that I picked up knowing nothing about and loved! Bradley Cooper is apparently working on a tv show script right now.
We were liars is a great summer read! I read it one day on vacation.
I'm so excited for the IT movie remake! The original was so good❤️
NOS4A2 was sooooo good. Different. Very different but excellent.
The fact that it's only June 8th and you already have this many books.. #goals
Jay G lol I've seen you everywhere from epic reads to here. Luv your videos by the way!😅😅😅😅😅
Shafia Akey awh thank you so much!!!
Jay G No problem Loll
I read A Head Full of Ghosts and it was an interesting book. Definitely wasn't expecting all that happened but I wasn't truly scared by the book. It's more of a psychological thriller than a horror book. It's one you can read anytime and don't have to wait for autumn.
I have read a brief history of nearly everything. Interesting book!
Just found your channel and I love it! Just subscribed! You got some amazing books! I really want to read Wolf By Wolf!!! Simon vs is such a good book and definitely a fast read! NOS4A2 IS AWESOME. For extra creep factor, read it around Christmas.
Does it have anything to do with Xmas?
BookswithEmilyFox Dude yes but no. No spoilers, just go with it. it's fantastic and creepy.
does it have anything to do with vampires?
That left picture in your thumbnail is definitely our delivery guy whenever I'm triggered again by watching your bookhauls Em 😂❤️
I haven't even heard of the Leviathan Wakes series. This is why I love your channel, you dont just talk about popular books but books that aren't even in some bibliophiles' radar❤
It's apparently very popular! Can't wait to try it!
I'm not 100% sure it's the same as the movie but the summary seemed similar!
*stories. Thanks, autocorrect.
Grace Gibson I think the Shadow and Bone triology are releasing new covers soon so I might have to pick them up!
I love the new covers! I don't typically buy books, but I might be tempted!
Outliers and In A Dark Dark Wood are great! 🙌🏻
Good to hear!!
I loved The Serpent King!! Jeff Zentner's 2nd book (Goodbye Days) came out earlier this year, better than his debut!
I recommend reading' Crime and punishment' (I know it's a bigger book) first!
I just got out of my reading slum, did a lot of audio books and manga , that usually works.
I just read Warbreaker and Nevernight both and really enjoyed them! Nevernight did take me a bit to get into but man I really liked it in the end! :)
I'm interested to see what you think of Nevernight. I have been super Nervous to pick it up.
Hello Emily! I have to say, I blame you because you made me obsessed with Brandon Sanderson books and they are so so so big....but still....obsessed. And just like you, I think that first have to read the Grisha trilogy and then Six of crow's even though is not directly related. Emily..read IT...King is a master! I really did not like " The Goldfinch"...really curious to know ur opinion. Enjoy these books!😚
Warbreaker was so good! I don't know why more people don't talk about it or read it! It was one of my favorites from last year.
We Are The Ants was one of my favourite books of last year, maybe even all time. I hope you enjoy it!
I can't wait to read it!!
We were liars isn't a bad book but the twist at the end was super obvious in my opinion. Keen to hear your thoughts on wolf by wolf!
We Were Liars is to me a rather summery book. It does take place during the summer and is more mystery than thriller. I recomend you read it during the summer :)
I recently read it and that book put me in a reading slump. I would say wait to read it.
Just started reading "The Kiss of Deception" and it's great so far! 😊💕
Glad you're enjoying it!!
Nice haul! I have been wanting to read "It" as well but the page count is really intimidating lol

The book by Joe Hill I believe is pronounced Nosferatu (like the KVD lipstick!)
Now that you've said it, it seems so obvious haha
The name comes from a classic vampire movie by F. W. Murnau. "Nosferatu"
Katie B. “like the lipstick.” Okay so not like the CLASSIC movie? Dies a little inside.
The Benjamin Button short story is amazing! I wasn't a big fan of the great Gatsby as I found it very long winded even though it had fantastic messages. However Benjamin when he was a child made me laugh so much. He was so sarcastic and loveable 😂
I was actually reading It as you hauled it!! I'm over halfway through and I love it but I'm so worried for what's going to happen
Gladwell is so interesting as a writer and to hear him speak, very profound and intelligent. He seems to understand 👍
Not going to lie, I think I'm going to buy Crooked Kingdom just for those red pages! I just want it on my bookshelf to look at!
if you like that series with the sequel of that series you bought that was much larger than the prequel (I hope thats descriptive enough lol) but I would recommend the series This world we live in by Susan b pfieffer!
omg,I just picked up this book called the dead & the gone by Susan Beth Pfeffer.I think there are 4 books.I instantly thought this would be your kind of book .It deals with an end of earth and how a family survives it.I'm loving it so far ! YES continue the ACOTAR series it will change your mind bc Feyre changes as the story progresses
Great haul. Always enjoy your hauls
We were liars is actually more like an intense contemporary that takes place during summer, so it's the perfect read, if you don't want to wait until autumn ;)
I think you should read The Six of Crows duo.
I really want to give the Grisha trilogy a try first but I can't wait!
Pines is also a tv series called Wayward Pines!!!
I've heard about it! I want to read the books first though :P

Hi! You may start reading We were liars! I liked a lot, is a quickly and adictive reading that I think you will enjoy 😉
What if? by Randall Munroe has called my attention, it seems so interesting!
What?!?!
Jennifer same! took me 3 weeks to read read acomaf, slowly getting through acowar. I find these last two slow for being 600 plus pages
New subscriber! Hi, love your attitude! And Nevernight! I cant wait to read it and it looks and sounds so good!
Stephen Kings It is my all time favorite book! It will take you some time, but you will love it if you like horror
the Joe Hill Book is called Nosferatu (aka vampire)
Im dyinggg to get to Nevernight!!
Hi Emily! I just bought "the fifteen lives of Harry August" how do you like the book? Do you recommend it?
Stephen King is pure addiction ♥️
Sara G. Word.
You have to read acomaf and acowar honestly it really gets better!!!😊❤️
I read "A Court of Thorns and Roses" earlier this year and I absolutely hated it. Gave it 1.5 Stars. And then I decided to read the second one... What can I say? I fell in love with it.
