Some pilots feel their trapped in a tin can. They have lttle manuering freedom and every movement is watched and monitored by an anal officer. Then they are debriefed and analyzed again. Not to say that new pilots dont enjoy themselves but the thrill is gone after a while.

There's a state-of-the-art robot camera on the canopy glass. It has little tank treads with suction cups and rolls along the canopy. They had to develop special suction cups that could adhere to the canopy during catapult launches. The Navy spent millions developing it so fighter pilots could compete with all the SEALs who have youtube channels.

From reading thousands of comments about Air Force jobs, it does seem to be one of the coolest ones out there, but only for a fraction of time. Sure, nothing beats the feeling of taking off in a 60 million $ aircraft for the first time, but after you do it for a lot of times, the fantasy and thrill slowly fade away while you get confronted with more severe chronic back and neck pain, being stuck in a chair for hours on end without the possibility of getting up and stretching your legs. You also have to give away any semblance of personal life in order to reach that status. It's the biggest sacrifice on your social and physical health and in return you only get a thrill that's like drugs, eventually it stops feeling as intense as it did the first time. While I'm also jealous of not making that sacrifice, I have a wife I love and an easy job/life and I know I wouldn't have had either of those if I pursued being an airforce pilot. Might still consider being a civilian pilot but even that strips away your possibility of having a normal relationship because you're away all the time.

@@willnellen9028 I'm curious, are you a combat pilot? What is the difference between this vid and a real takeoff? I agree that DCS is MEANT to simulate everything real time, and the closer to reality the better. We are on the precipice of not knowing what is real or artificial in anything video or digital, and it's no guarantee that in REAL life not every THING or every ONE is "real". 😶🙏🙏🤡

Idk if theres any other factors because the fastest accelerating coaster (Dododonpa 0-120 in 1.6) has only 4.7 Gs. And that’s also faster than this launch!
