    Wow dude... you have seriously set the bar for any future tornado scenarios. From one creator to another, this was incredible. The use of soundings, recreated mesoscale discussions, and damage assessment pictures from Piedmont, Moore, Mayfield, etc. just blew me away, I even laughed a bit at the mention of the HRRR. It's incredibly relieving to see a GOOD tornado scenario made by someone who actually knows their shit, I was beyond tired of the ridiculous EF-8 scenarios. Not to mention the AMAZING reflectivity and velocity simulations, and the intricate audio depicting an entire story. Seriously blown away here (no pun intended) and I'm super excited for what else you may bring in the future.

      @@arizona7979 Would it be okay to feature me as a storm spotter? I live in Pott. County in Central Oklahoma. I recently had a nightmare where there was an EF-5 that had a wind speed over 300 mph and a forward motion of 60-70 mph that struck Tecumseh, OK. This tornado may have touched down much further to the SW. It was HUGE! When I realized that this tornado was heading towards town, I got into my car and drove HARD towards OK-9 and HARD towards Tecumseh on OK-9. I got there just as the tornado started to strike town. I had to keep some distance from this monster because of it’s wind speed, forward motion, and the size of that thing. I was watching that tornado in pure horror as it literally ripped through town. Seen a lot of cars go flying like toys, homes also ripped from the ground and power lines were literally snapped and carried off with the power poles. The roar of that tornado was extremely intense even inside the car. When it became safer as the tornado moved away. I moved slowly and carefully. It looked like a war zone. Everything was gone. Even parts of roads were stripped off. I even noticed that the roof of a below ground concrete storm shelter that was reinforced with Steel Rebar is gone. That sight scarrred me forever in that dream.
      (Also, maybe do Correlation Coefficient? A CC drop means there is a tornado on the ground)

    An EF6 tornado is not possible using the enhanced Fujita scale because the scale bases the strength of a tornado on the damage that it causes. Since the damage caused by an EF5 tornado is cataclysmic, with houses completely swept off their foundations, you can't get worse than that. This is why I have been advocating for tornado intensities based upon direct wind measurements. I have no doubt that this will be the case at some point in the future. At that time, a W6 (or whatever the scale is called) tornado will be possible because we are just beginning to learn how fast the winds in a cataclysmic tornado blow.

    • @heatherstub
      @heatherstub ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Me too. I can't stand the current EF scale, and it's because of those wind speeds being reduced. I still believe that the current record for the windspeed is 318 MPH no matter what Dr. Josh Werterman says. (I hope I spelled his name correctly.)

    • @EperogiLimousine
      @EperogiLimousine ปีที่แล้ว

      Well there’s a problem, do we really need a “w6”? These ratings are only to asses damage and prevent deaths so it dosent really matter what windsoeed there is as that’s just pointless. What are you going to do with a w6 tornado? It dosent rwally help

    This is very well done, excellent scenario. My only complaint is the layering of some audio over voices, particularly white noise sounds like rain, can make them very hard to hear. Otherwise, very well done, with an eye towards accuracy of how tornado situations are actually handled.
    (I wish more creators would normalize EAS sounds with the volume of audio in the video, but that's a personal pet peeve. I end up having to turn my volume up to hear what's going on, to quickly dropping it when the tones dropped. It can get painful with headphones on.)

    • @Coop-sg6qc
      @Coop-sg6qc ปีที่แล้ว +20

      The Purple Polygon I think you are talking about is called an Tornado Emergency, its a very enhanced version of a tornado warning meaning that there a violent tornado in progress with history of destruction or a tornado with intense to violent radar signatures are heading toward a majorly populated area.

Despite the tornado being rated as an EF4 by the National Weather Service office in Jackson, Mississippi the Hattiesburg tornado killed no one and only eighty-two people were injured. This tornado badly damaged numerous businesses on Hardy Street and Oak Grove Road in downtown Hattiesburg as well as damaging or destroying many homes and vehicles and damaging residence halls on the campus of the University of Southern Mississippi. Fortunately, there weren't many students or faculty members of USM on campus as they had gone to New Orleans, Louisiana for Mardi Gras weekend because Hattiesburg isn't too far from New Orleans.
