Thanku 4 your videos, interesting 2 c how other ppl live on this planet..from NZ..there appears 2 be a macabre side to Italy, similar to pompei..it looks so idyllic, in many ways, but then it feels weird at times, watching some of the places..
:Lovely island for a holiday--the tree is an Asian Mimosa--the flowers are beautiful and constant--but they are a big mess/sticky--so only plant in a place where the droppings do not matter--or you will be constantly cleaning them up--ie corner of a yard, etc--the food is spectacular--how interesting to see crowds--I wonder how the island is surviving now? dts
Hi, I'm Carlo, Thank you, this problem is not only in Ischia, but in this whole area, human beings have a great ability to adapt, that's why we are still here, Italians, especially those from the south, have a great art, that of make do, so I don't know how but we'll be able to get by.😘👋
@@NickiPositano I think that you and Nikki are really amazing, Carlo--you have the most beautiful life--Italians are able to bring beauty from everywhere and make Art from it--God has provided and will continue to provide...his angels are watching over you all--for Skye and Tomasso...be good...dts
Older video I know, but watching everything of yours I can get my hands on. I feel so relaxed when watching & listening to you both speak Italian! Ciao!
Love all your videos Nicky, you live in such a lovely place and so many lovely places to visit from your home. I always look forward to your videos, as we live in West Wales and the weather is not always good. Thank you for sharing your life with us all.
In the older days when the island was raided by the Spanish, French and Turks the islanders used to all go and live up at the Castello until the danger had passed.
Hi Judy, I'm Carlo, Thanks a lot for the comment, I really like doing it, when I can, and then I can really learn from those who have more experience than me, and not necessarily older than me.
i lived in Naples for 9 months in 1973. I didnt get to go anywhere as I had two babies and it was hard getting around with them. I love your videos as I loved Italy and want to visit again. Hopefully in the next year or two I can make it happen. And I love you and Carlo...such a fun couple...his smile is so nice...love your house but wouldnt love all those steps.
A good friend of mine is a long lost relation of the ARAGONESE family who once owned the castle on Ischia. When his father came to the U.S. he shortened his name from ARAGONESE to RAGONESE.
Same with Australia. They are not allowed anywhere. Not even on boardwalks, outside shops, taxis Ubers nothing nowhere. Even if they're a service dog, it has happened multiple multiple times that they weren't allowed in to places. This whole country is one big rule book. If Nicki let her dog ride on her bike here in Aus as she does in Italy, they would be stopped by the first police to see them, huge fine, court date, and the Dog would be confiscated immediately. They would also make the nightly news for being so irresponsible and dangerous driving. This country doesn't like to see you live. It really is a horrible place.
That tree is "albizia julibrissin", also known as "Korean mimosa" or "Persian silk tree". It grows fast from seeds or root shoots in warm climates. We have two in our garden and the only downside is that when they flower you can't put anything underneath because the dropping flowers make everything sticky. But they really look gorgeous.
Bellissimo video Nicki e Carlo, sono parecchie anni che non siamo piu stati ad Ischia. Spero che un giorno ci possiamo ritornare. Buona serata dal Belgio.
@@mimibatman2787 wow that brings back memories of my parents' house when i was a child in NJ.. we loved skimming off each the green leaves in one shot..
Our neighbors had a 60 year old pickled pear cactus, in started rotting and falling over into our yard and another neighbors yard too. That was tricky! I love see the bougainvillea we have that here too. Rhonna in Fremont, CA the east Bay Area. I think that was an acacia tree, our neighbors have one. I’m a sucker for geraniums. I don’t think they grow in Oregon, I don’t know. I think I will miss my Meyer lemon tree and raised bed veggie garden.
As many have already said the tree is known as the Persian silk tree, pink silk tree, or mimosa. But the tree was introduced to Europe by an Italian nobleman Filippo degli Albizzi. We call it a trash tree as the blossoms leave a mess and the seeds scatter every where and the seedlings are difficult to remove. Very pretty when it is in someone else's yard ;-) Thanks for the wonderful video.
Mimosa tree ( can be invasive here in the states) Love your videos! My husbands paternal family is from Forio. Our first time visit was fall 2019. Hopefully we'll be allowed back soon~ We had rabbit up in the mountains and plenty of seafood by the ports. Wouldn't mind spending a few months there, but we'd miss our furbabies. Thank you for sharing the lovely Italian lifestyle~
We had a rabbit in a Taverna Verde restaurant. And Forio has best beaches on the island - Cava del Isola, Citara. We just love Ischia. Hopefully we'll be able to revisit it. Best of luck.
Love you both, so relaxed and “real” we missed a few sights, went from Pozzuoli...home of Sophia Loren. What was the Little hotel, future reference!?Grazie🌹🇺🇸🇮🇹🙏🏻💞
Hi Ruth, I'm Carlo, Did you let me watch the video to understand what you meant, yes you're right I'm holding my fork in an unusual way, or do I always do that ?! I honestly don't know, I usually don't eat in front of the mirror, or someone films me doing it, so it's one of those many things we do without us noticing! If I have offended someone, I apologize!
Originally from China, mimosa or silk tree was introduced to the United States in 1745 and cultivated since the 18th century primarily for use as an ornamental. Mimosa remains a popular ornamental because of its fragrant and showy flowers.
I have to saw two things: you always pick such great complimentary music and Holly has such great keep up energy! My dog gets tired, collapses, and it is stand there or carry her from then on out. Lovely lovely video. Glad its summer again so you are back to posting! OH, and Carlo?! He is probably telling you to suck it up when you jumped in the pool but man does he sound sexy! ;)
