The Dangeon tour came late Dec of 1992 if im wrong remind me. It was headed by Peter Sematimba, it had performance from Prim n propa(Lillian Butele and Brenda Zobo),Ragga Dee, LSST(Luther Martins,SteveJean,Shanks vivid, Terry Devos)Roger Mugisha, Rasta Rob Mc, perfect Generation, Jenkins Mukasa,to mention but a few. Actually that’s the year FM stations started in Uganda. So serious modern music was started by Peter Sematimba on his return from USA.
That was my time.i remember Lillian butele and brenda zobbo at sabrinas. That was the time semattimba managed perfect generation. I remember Jenkins too.He is saying the truth
When u make a choice 2 go aboard, life is much easier if u develop a mindset n prepare yoself that u may stay 4 rest of yo life cuz u don't know how long yo papers may take. Ur even better off if u leave no baby mamas behind. Otherwise, ur bound 2b mo depressed if u left a wife n kids back! Be prepared that u may be gone for at least 10yrs!! Think of yo destination as yo new home n UG as yo sec home! Then life will mentality be much smoother 4u!
There's some truth in what you said but i I disagree with your view of not having baby mamas.................because i have also seen those who didn't have strings like baby mamas and had sired kids carelessly not doing much when they got abroad apart from drinking themselves silly/sleeping around with people etc. I think being mentally tough combined with staying strong in your faith (which ever religion you subscribe to) and staying focused to goals that you set can also play a big factor in how smooth the transition might be for you
@@fk5371 of course that was a general assessment which may not encompass all the different aspects. There'll always be ppl who'll not fit the narrative but overall it is much easier on an individual if they ain't got those family ties cuz they increase yo expenditure n thus affect yo savings.
Naye kasuku simulunji when it comes to getting such info from people like jenkins I think this interview would be even better if ssendi was the one interviewing jenkins and vice versa. Awo the kaboozi would flow properly Simububi that's just my observation think abt it but besides that, thanks for the show
What you’re saying is absolutely right, Jenkins. However, anyone’s success in America is dependent on many factors. From your conversation, I can see why you made the decision to go back to Uganda. I agree, it is challenging when you first come in, without the right to work, and you are always gonna consider going back home. Kyoka Wabula, in my opinion , the state of California gyewatukira and the mentality of your host and friends bewasanga played a big implicit role in your chickening out. Bwekituuka ku survival munsi z’abazungu tewali akuba America. If only, you considered moving to other states nkukakasa singa kati toli Uganda. And, I’m not saying it’s easy bse it not naye waliwo State gy’obeeramu ne kuwa eky’okola.
Some people have seen it all but prefer to be where they think they will thrive more. If you have other options you might see America as a preference for vacationing if you don't have other options you might see it as a "second heaven"
Jenkins thank you so muc for your words its really intresting . People in ug think that going to USA or any Europé its heaven. People must think twice before travelling to avoid discouragement and hatred.
Brain behind all what,???? This guy started diaspora updates before isma’s kivebulaya. Mind you he’s travelled to three countries but isma one(lets use our brains alot for a better 2023)
People there abroad are beats of burden....esp those who go for "kyeyo." And also, USA or diaspora is good for those who are young and perhaps for the tired of life people...to revert, and go back to ground zero.
