I've been listening to Tori for, well, 29 years. And this has become perhaps my favorite of her songs. Striking that it was never released on an album.
To me this song is about the immature masculine (aka - Patriarchy) and the possibility of redemption. Apollo, the masculine. Your sister, you can be capable of beauty, creating beauty in this world. I'm tired of you taking from me... Exploitation, Capitalism, Imperialism, Hegemony... How can you think you've won, when there can be no winner... Why can't you see that this behavior hurts everyone, including yourself. There are no winners because all the harm you do makes this world and it's cultures more callous, distrusting, defensive, retributive, violent. You could never see, never see! Apollo's Frock was always as beautiful as your sisters :(
I totally agree with your interpretation: it's almost the same thing that I told to her in Milan in 2017 when I asked for this song. And I think she would agree too since she played it for me that night.
One of my favorite Tori songs of all time. An absolute masterpiece.
The first 3 minutes of this are just... It's almost TOO beautiful. Breathtaking.
I think it's her absolute best.
How I wish she would release an entire album of Piano Suites
As do I. She's a brilliant player, singer, songwriter and fantastic performer. Would love to someday see her play live, if it's possible.
She did release an instrumental version of Night of Hunters.
@@david57strat did you know she is on tour now !?!?!?

It's on Scarlet's Hidden Treasures EP
I still can't believe she played this song live in Hershey... a truly beautiful performance.
Her music heals the soul
The intro to this is reminiscent of Precious Things like Precious things reprise. Makes me feel 🥰💯
Adam Smith Music I hear a bit of ”Yes, Anastasia” :-)
@@fluorescenticon101 yes I hear that too!
I love how she makes 'Don't fuck with a lioness' sound so full of grace.
She is a graceful Leo with Scorpio rising.
Masterpiece!
Maybe one of the best songs ever..
