Considering the girl keeps saying I can save you, and the animation for when she kills you is her cutting your stomach, maybe because being effected by the nail curse she thinks she's helping you by "getting the nails out"
Fun fact: the clicking noise is from her moving the box cutter blade in and out

The story of the first gal Belle is that she had a crush of a guy from school who had a girlfriend though. She tried using magic on the guy's girlfriend to get rid of her but of course the misuse of the spells backfired on her and it caused her to get sick instead which you read that caused her early death. The love spell that she used on her crush did work and since Belle was already dead after, that the guy ended up committing suicide so he could be with her. This is some of what it says on her biography.

I thought the guy, Shane committed "hitting the ground too hard" before Belle did. From what I understand, Shane did get somewhat 'bound' to Belle, but this took a toll on his mental health, thus ending his life. Since they are bound by the jinx, the curse that backfired on Belle is what caused her to die (she kept threwing blood with nails) when Shane died
As a bored person that used to slide my box cutter in and out all of the time at work, that is EXACTLY the sound the ghost girl makes, and the dev recreated it really well. Also, I'm Canadian and we totally had science fairs. But that was thirty something years ago, so who knows, now.
We used to have science fairs in the US too. Until they started acting like "experts" gatekeep all knowledge. Smh

Same, no offense to good content creators with 10-15 minute videos, but I love these 1-10h gameplays of games but also just his regular phasmo content, I can split some even up for several days and have something to watch while the next great video is being released, never bored at least.

There is an episode of "Dark Tourist" which touches on it, though I wouldn't suggest watching it (very um..."Ooo, look a dead *body* in the HOUSE, isn't it PECULIAR?" without looking at the people and the culture at all), there's also a book "From Here to Eternity" by Caitlin Doughty, which has a chapter that touches much more thoroughly, and I would go so far as to say Humanly, on the people who are connected to the practice.

I actually have a suggestion that I think a lot of people would like. Have you ever played Aka Manto? I have seen a few youtubers play it but the stop posting it because it was a a big challenge. A lot of puzzles and spooky spirits that chase you around in an abandoned school. That's all I know cause players have stop posting it. :(

This was a really good game, very intense! I loved the sound effects that they had, loooved the clicking of the box cutter. Felt like I was back at work though because I click mine all the time hahaha. I promise I'm not like the girl in this game though haha

I didn't play HSM. I'll type some info about thai myths becuase I'm drunk af rn.
Thai ppls belived if you perform witchcarft (some called Dark art) and aren't do it propper you'll get rebound from performed witchcraft, you'll get possessed by Haunted ghost, even you're expert(I'.E. shaman) you have to ocesstionly released ghost in your possession because ghost will hold grudges over time and become stronger and killed you .
move to Cursed Item, such as coffin's Nail(not human's nail) , some Belived it's possed grudge or part of Dark energy , especially unnatural dead(Accident, Murdered ) will hold more said energy because it's not these ppl to died yet, They still remained in world roaming around and more viciously, wickedly these ppls before died they've more said 'energy' when died .
Soil from Graveyard, Belived it hold grudge from people that got buried, some place hold more value than other like graveyard that usually use for wickedly people, unatually dead.
more messed up thing is they're favor in used thing such as unborn fetus, remain pregnant women with unbon child inside.
if you're affected by these cured such as Charmed, even you're dead , your soul still followed person that use charm on you till that person dead.
