Wait until season’s end and judge the Sox. It’s not their fault they can’t compete very well, like pretty much every rough team in the past. The only exception in my mind is the 1935 Boston Braves. 78-73 in 1934, 71-83 in 1936 (as the redubbed Boston Bees) but went to pieces in between (38-115) They weren’t an expansion club, loaded with rookies, or purposely torn-down to save money. They had the same manager in the 30’s for years, a well-respected and patient man. But the 1935 edition outside of Wally Berger were unable to do much, period. Babe Ruth was gone after a fairly brief stint, yet was 2nd in HR’s with just six. As far as the Sox today, they’re badly ran and have been broken-up and can’t build back up right away due to incompetent management. They’re an AAA-Club who lost 2 of 3 to an AAAA-Club in Oakland, calling them an MLB club is like saying Putin is a President vs. the ruthless dictator he definitely is.
