We had this type of same experience when we were moving to Dalhousie....from Amritsar in 2013 January and literally we had to walk 3 kms in snow to reach Dalhousie top resort...and within 1hr it was almost 1feet snowfall.....so recalling the same memories after watching your blogs Vikash brother

We had this experience in gangtok to nathula pass trip and the car was innova like yours. I learn from other drivers that innova is the most unsafe car in snowy roads....it skids without a clue. Our car turned 180° while going down on a snowy patch and started skidding down towards the ditch .... One wagon r has saved it to fall down the ditch which was luckily parked at strategic point. The innova rammed the wagon r and stopped. jako rakhe saiyan... Maar sakey na koi.... I understood the real meaning of it that moment!! Best car in hills whether snowy or, not is mahindra jeep, bolero, or, scorpio. Good luck!

I have driven down from Hatu peak frozen lake point in winters on complete black ice AFTER SUNSET. Driving their is quite challenging even in summers because the road majorly is very slim, enough for only a single car to move and quite od reverses at times. For safety there aren't even any side stones. If you slide you are directly into the fall. It took 1.5 hours for me and my friend to cover those 1 km. He at times was out their pushing the rear into position because it was completely sliding. Thankfully we took ropes which we used in our front tires as people use chains. My simple suggestion when you are stuck in such situation is : ALWAYS USE HANDBRAKES. YES REGULATE THEM ACCORDINGLY(high-low-verylow) YOUR TYRE SHOULD NOT JAM AT ANYTIME BUT THEY SHOULD MOVE TIGHT, SO THAT THEY DON'T JAM AND SLIDE THE CAR IN ANY DIRECTION. BUT THEY HELP MAKE THE REAR HOLD YOUR CAR AND STOP IT FROM PICKING PACE FAST. IT SIMPLY HOLDS YOUR CAR TIGHT WITH CREATING THE LEAST POSSIBLE FUSS. That day also I was moving the handbrake low and high accordingly.
