- This was a 90s shaka when i stop attending personally. But felt to put it up there. Im far more partial to my 70s/80s shaka dances. but so it go for the new shaka followers who like the current shaka dances

I would dearly love to hear a recording of Shaka playing at Sussex University in around 88-89. First time for me, musical life changing moment tbh. He was really on form. I think it might be known as the 'crusty' dance.
The Soundsystem back then was awesome, double 18 reflex's mid at ear level with big white horns on top. Still running his valve amp at that time. Shaka pulling moves like a Shaman.
I know youts who follow him now, and I only wish they could have seen what I saw back in (my) the day.

I am 35 now went to my 1st dance 03/04 so I got to see and feel original Shaka sound system but got a brother 8years older then me because of that I was listening to Shaka live recordings from 90s In year 4/5 primary school. The tunes sound and why the people are there is not same. Used to feel a feeling of something spiritual from when u walk in. Shame so many of our elders wasted themselves on hard drugs
@@jaz7303 how can you say so many elders wasted on hard drugs. I guess I too am considered an elder as my first shaka was summer of 1976.

90s whas when I stopped. saw the crowed changing and the vibe in a shaka session wasnt really in sync with my musical spirit. so i slowly stepped aside. my actual last session i recorded was 94.

Michael Prophet - Struggler, came on a Prophets 7inch digital style. There was also a 12inch by Michael Prophet called struggle which is still a bad tune.
