- I show you a simple and cheap method of making your own in-line fuse holders that will get you by if the situation calls for it. It can be considered a permanent solution, but isn't recommended. NOTE this video is for demonstration purposes only. The wire ga., connector size, and fuse size are not appropriate for this circuit. I just grabbed a few things I had laying around for the demo. Thank you for watching!! Like, SUBSCRIBE & Share!!
Very Brilliant. I came here looking for solution for my damaged inline fuse holder for my motorbike, didn’t think i will find such simple solution. 👊🏽
And here I thought I was a genius 😂 mine looks the same I even covered it in electrical tape like you suggested.
Great idea. Saw on another video the same method. But yours is better with the insulated ends. Just saved me about $7 for a in line fuse holder.
thats the way I always do it.. never had any issues , you just have to make sure that the wire you are using is appropriate for the amps that the circuit has.
So simple thank you I’m starting my 12v journey so this helps
Thanks for watching Cameron. If you have any questions related to 12V feel free to ask. I’m more than happy to try to assist.
Cheers mate really appreciate the help
My guy thank you!!
Hey man, what size fuse are you using?
Is it ATC or Maxi/ATX, I'm trying to make sure a blue 14-16 guage female spade connector will fit snug on the fuse terminals(prongs).
I'll order some correct size Fuses because I only have Mini/ATM Blade Fuses.
Thats pretty cool man.
👍🏻thanks!
I'm going to be wiring my hummingbird helix 7 to a battery and they say to use an inline fuse. How do I know what in line fuse holder to get? And will a 1 amp fuse be sufficient?
The in line fuse holder wires should be the same size or greater than the wire you are fusing. The amperage is based off of the device. A 1 amp fuse is normally used for a device that is extremely sensitive to voltage surge such as a depth finder. Always fuse any device by the MFG specifications. Hope this helps.
Thanks for watching!
What side do you put the in line fuse to? Negative or positive side
Positive (+) only. You want the current to stop if the fuse blows.
Switches can be put in a negative wire or a positive wire but never both - & +. But inline fuses stop + current to protect components down the line when to much Amps flow through that can overheat the wire or device causing melting or fires 🔥
Clever
How can I do this for a glass fuse that u screw into the side of battery
Not sure of what you can do there…
