For his 66th birthday, his family decided to pitch in together to buy Enchroma glasses that have color correcting lenses that help the colorblind see color. This video is his expression to opening his gift and witnessing color for the first time.

I used to have 40/20 vision, better than most people. A few months ago my vision started getting bad. I finally went to the eye doctor today and when I was testing out different lenses for glasses I was getting excited like a little kid because of how crispy clear everything was😂😂
I never knew how much I would love my sight until today! Funny this was recommended to me. He’s in a similar situation to me, and when his vision finally got back to what it used to be, he got excited like a little kid just like me. He couldn’t see color, I saw blurry. We’re back to normal and we felt like a little kid full of excitement!
It is, I had a disease and unable to move my legs. 2 months later (today) I am running to the sunrise at the mornings and I can't explain how fucking awsome that is, not with words, definitely with nothing that humans can do. Be healthy, all of you people!

I love how he keeps taking his glasses off and on. He couldn't believe what he was seeing. Tears of joy.
Unfortunately for a very few who did that when first getting these kinds of tools, flipping them on and off caused the brain to become confused and stop processing. Some enjoyed colors for the first and last time. It can take a bit of time (hours) for the brain to be less confused. It's important to realize these may be in the form of glasses, for obvious reasons, but they are still medical tools. They do an amazing thing to give the brain something it really really wants (leading to these emotional reactions), but still medical tools.

I recently started to get these kinds of recordings and each and every one of them hits me right in the ticker. this man and I are the same age. as an amateur artist I love all the colors and shades there is to see. to have only a basic grasp and then to seeing it all for the 1st time has got to be one of the most emotionally charged events a person could experience. no matter the age or "toughness" - they all cry. 'tis truly a beautiful world and these glasses are a marvel. what a gift.

Oh my goodness this made me cry he didn’t want to take them off you can see and hear the shock and awe he couldn’t believe what he was seeing and asking the name of the color of their house made me cry more awesome family and excellent shape he is in keep it up! I turned my life around after I had put 80 pounds on I got tired of being heavy and committed myself to losing all that and 18 months later I lost 85 pounds went from a 2X top a size 18 in pant to a medium in top and a size 6 in pant you can do it you just “gotta wanna”

I won't lie, I teared up with his reaction... what an amazing moment for this man, at the time of the video he had gone 66 years without seeing colours... makes me think that I definitely take things for granted most of the time. God bless him and his family, and I wish him a colourful life till the end of his days!
It’s a blessing to be able to see colors and you should be greatful because people don’t have the same things as you but he received a blessing here to be able to see color on his own. God is doing great things for this man.
