Since 1934, the Masters Tournament has been home to some of golf’s greatest moments. Amidst blooming azaleas, towering pines and flowering dogwoods, the first full week of April ushers in a stage unique to golf and to sport. Over four days and 72 holes, the smallest field in major championship golf competes for a chance to capture the Green Jacket and a place in Masters history.

Whoever decided to do the shot by shot single player highlight reel kudos...and thank you very much. Great idea.....
@@TJDawgs72 It's brilliant to watch back..
It’s all of the shots that are on the website tracker combined together, makes a top video highlights video! 😅
It really makes them seem human when you see all the bad shots too. Not comparing us mere mortals, but it doesn't look nearly as impressive in this format although I couldn't be happier that Rory won it.
Only thing missing imo is leaderboard graphic somewhere to give a sense of the overall standings/momentum through the round.
@@isCarsonMiller Ball tracker would be class too.
Feels incredible to see him finally win a Masters and man that round was crazy
He’s won 4 now
@@jactuscack6196 This is the first Masters he's won. Now he has 5 majors.

The sweetest part for me was that him and his wife worked things out and the whole family was there to celebrate.

The way my heart DROPPED on hole 13 and then started SOARING again on hole 15. What a ride. This man is a legend and I have so much respect for him, this is a long-deserved victory
what'd we do without your respect
@@kin-m5m ?
Now add in the drama of him and wife separating and then working things out on top of the annoyance and pain of seeing other pros sell out for 100s of millions in free oil money tearing the Tour apart. Unbelievable emotion and pressure I can’t even imagine, playing in front of ppl let alone cameras is insane enough lol 🤯
This is probably the most remarkable sporting thing I’ve ever witnessed.
I WAS PRAYING FOR RORI SO HARD MY HEART BEAT WAS UP AND DOWN BUT HE MADE IT. ALL GLORY TO YOU LORD CHRIST AMEN.
that shot on 15 around the trees will be remembered forever
And the dart on 17
Yes his shot on 15 on day 3 was amazing but that was straight. But to draw the ball 40 yards round the trees from 208 yards, fly it over water with enough height to stop within 6 feet requires not only serious skill but, in the circumstances, incredible guts. One of the best shots I've ever seen.
I was sitting on 16 and had a perfect view of it from behind 15 green. Best golf shot I have ever witnessed in my entire life.
I wish he would have converted the eagle, but one of the best shots of all time for sure
The one on 17 was better. So clutch
Shot at 15 is arguably one of the best Masters shots of all time
@@austinmoca7586 wish he had holed the eagle though
@@2risquejunior538kind of, but in hindsight it added to the drama of the 18 and the ridiculousness of a play-off
Seriously, he totally underplayed it later in the interview. Given everything that had happened, to pull that off at that moment...wow, I couldn't believe it. One of those sporting moments, goosebumps just thinking about it
great shot indeed but imo, his best shot was the 2nd on the playoff hole. Massive pressure and that sealed it.
The other best shot I remember was Phil's pine straw shot on 13 in 2010. Still thought Rory's shot on 15 was the best shot I've seen.
Rory was carrying more baggage than any other player in history, 14 years of being a favourite and watching others fly in under the radar and take the green jacket, hence the roller coaster round, but some unbelievable irons to keep it alive, the first two shots in the play off were truly magnificent.
@@geoffnelson6756 Hey Geoff, I think your comment is spot on. For some reason, this kid could not get past whatever it was that was keeping him from getting fitted for that green jacket... until his SECOND attempt, in 30 minutes, at burying a rather short putt on 18 in the playoff. "Short" is a relative term. After missing that "short" putt on 18 for the win, in regulation, the putt on 18 in the playoff round must have seemed like 50 ft.
Geoff, you are so right about him hitting some incredible shots. He hit a couple of incredible shots on 17 and 18, in regulation. And then, like you said, he hit two incredible shots on 18 in the playoff round. AND YET, he still needed Rose to miss his 12-15 footer to give him a shot, albeit his second shot, at redemption!
It's been over 40 years since I watched a whole round of golf on television. The last time was when I watched Tom Watson come running out of a sand trap after he just buried his sand trap shot to win his tournament in dramatic fashion on the last hole.
We are witnessing history here. Only the 6th player in history to complete a grand slam and he deserves it. What an epic Master that was, one of the best!
@jrbmdemon I'm confused because I'm new to golf. It says a grand slam is winning all the major tournaments in the same calender year, but showing online the other 3 major tournaments occur in May - June - July?
@@LZYDOG carrrer grand slam not grand slam he won all at one point in his career

@@russellaycock3703 you fan boys are funny
As a spectator, I was incredibly nervous; my heart was racing. I can't imagine what Rory went through at this Masters. The final few shots, how emotional he was inside, were epic.
That shot on the 15th is one of the best golf shots I've ever seen. The pressure on him, final round at The Masters, he's down, then he pulls that out.. Outstanding 👏
I’m a scratch golfer and I can work the ball both ways very well. To hit a hook shot this high and this soft from so far away seems so impossible to a mortal like myself. And under all that pressure. Wish he would have made the putt to put the icing on the cake. But still, WOW! What a golf shot!
Love the archival feel of these. Especially because we witnessed HISTORY today. What a day that deserves to be documented and celebrated
That shot on 15 will be iconic forever. 208 out over the water and stop it like that from in the rough drawing it around the trees. That roar by the crowd was insane as well.
Support him all the way to victory more points ahead of the game
He was in the fairway
Rory fought and won against the toughest opponent of them all... himself. I am not a huge golf fan, nor a observer of sports in general beyond checking standings or catching a bit of a game here or there when at someone's house or out and about, but I am truly grateful I caught a few hours of this yesterday. I have heard his name and have seen some various content around telling Rory's story and how the green jacket has eluded him all these years, and it was so joyous to watch this man break through his own doubt and resentments to achieve victory. I marvel at a human's ability to share in the excitement and gratification of another in these moments.
You should marvel at Rose’s ability to drain a clutch 25 footer on 72 to force a playoff, while Knee-Knocker Mcllroy couldn’t clinch it from 4ft. Rose hit a closer shot but got a bad bounce on 73, Rory ALMOST lost this tournament.
@@markettrader911 You are 100% correct in your summary. The battle of will and the machinations of doubt extended until the very end, with only one who could finish it out.
@@markettrader911 Mate, Rose was ahead after two rounds and fell away when he had the lead. Then when he had little hope on Sunday he roared back into contention, only to bogey 17 when he finally got the lead. Then birdie again on 18 when he had no option but to go for it.
It’s much easier to play from behind, and Rose proved that as much as Rory.
@@btron3k I’m not your mate and I don’t speak the queen’s English. Rosey was clutch under pressure, Rory pulled a 4 footer for the win - once again revealing his unbecoming mental toughness for a #1 ranked caliber player.

From heartbreak on 13 to pure magic on 15 - this is why we love golf. The perseverance and sheer artistry Rory displayed to finally conquer Augusta will be remembered for generations. What a moment for the sport!
I'd rather have fewer heartbreaks in my round though.
Second shot into 15 was a work of art. A masterpiece all its own.
That was a clutch "Woods, art of the magician" kind of shot.

@@diamonddog13Which was better than Rory's overall score!😂
Most of the field had bad or mediocre weekends! Minus a few great shots, and Rory FINALLY getting his Green Jacket, it was the WORST Masters since the Masters that Covid ruined!
Rory finally winning does not change how bad it was, imo. I was otherwise very disappointed.
A legendary round for the ages. This round will be talked about for years. He was not giving up, and displayed the heart of a champion. 🥂 To The Masters, site of the world's best golf event of the year.

The approach shot to the green at 18 on the playoff was the best shot he's ever hit. He had to get it so close to the hole he couldn't miss the put, else this thing was lost forever. What a champion - 11 years of hurt are finally over. Now go get some more Majors, Mac!!
I started really getting into golf like 2 years ago and I liked Rory simply for the fact that that’s my fish’s name. Sticking with him and seeing him compete the grand slam was amazing.

As a Bryson fan I really wanted to see him win. However knowing the trials and tribulations Rory went through. The immense stress of everyone watching you at the masters finally paid off. Watching him break down knowing he finally did it was amazing to watch. It was well deserved and he played incredibly well. Kudos to you Rory.

That shot on 15 is one of the best shots I’ve ever seen. Tiger-level artistry, bubba-level shotmaking. And then the playoff hole wedge! To put together incredible shotmaking under such immense pressure is what makes a major champion. I am so proud of Rory. I shed a tear when he sunk that final putt. Here’s to more majors for him- although he looks 45, he’s still a spring chicken with probably 2 decades of PGA golf left
Yeah he has aged badly...all that stress!
I the The Open Championship is at St Andrew's(I think!) I HOPE he wins it there! He'll be Knighted Sir Rory! No it is in N Ireland oh my GO Rory! Royal Portrush....
The way he kept this round together through all the adversity is truly astonishing.
Amazing day for golf fans. Even more for Rory fans! I can't remember getting that emotional for a player's win, even having watched every one of Tiger's majors. Top three Master's IMO ever (Tiger's first, his last, and Rory's first today).
It's impossible to judge other Masters that you haven't seen.

@@THEHANDICAPPERSGOLFWORLD-jd4lh The 86 Masters happened before I was old enough to appreciate it, but I agree it tops the list for most.
@ You're right, that's really MY list - and my opinion, not the greatest for everyone or even of all time, just the one's I remember. I started watching in 92, so of course Tiger is way up on my list.
The quintessential McIlroy round is only fitting for his long-awaited Masters!
Do you know what? I have never seen so many Americans root or be so happy for a non-American beating an American in sports before (I know that Bryson ultimately fell away but the point is the same). I think that tells you how popular McIlroy is. I think pretty much everyone on the planet went through that rollercoaster there. What a win!
I just said the same thing to my girlfriend, it was nice to see. Not sure it would have been the same had an American been in the same position as Justin Rose! Memories of The Ryder Cup.

When I was a kid, the Masters was like 4-6P Thursday and Friday and then the back nine for the leaders on the weekend and that was about it. For them to give us so much access now with tons of bonus coverage and a youtube channel that puts everyone else to shame, it's just awesome and they've done nothing but make the tournament even more popular by letting us see so much.

I think Rory is great. Pressure in athletics is unreal. He seems to be at his best when going full throttle. And, nerves on 13 chip, 15 putt, 18 wedge, 18 bunker, 18 putt.....all let you know that no one is immune to nerve issues 'tween the brain and the hands.....great video.
....and then he wound it up in the playoff............340 yds off tee, 123 in.....great stuff.
Watching this entire Masters on the Masters app connect to my TV & computer monitors was absolutely awesome!! GREAT JOB!!!
Golf has seen some great battles of Man vs. Man, like Tiger vs. DiMarco in 2005. And certainly Man vs. Nature, like the many blustery Open Championships or burnt out U.S. Opens of days gone by. But this round was the epitome of Rory winning the battle of Man vs. Self. He finally did it. And it was truly remarkable to watch every moment.
Dang. I don't watch mch golf, but even I teared up a bit, especially on the playoff hole. So happy for him.
It has been awhile since I’ve been this invested watching a round of golf. I have to admit, I turned it off for two holes after the stumble on the 13th. So happy to see him pull it off. We all felt that release on 18.

Once every two or three years, there is a Masters week that reminds you why you wait for this week ever year. From the first shot on Thursday to the last shot on Sunday, it can be breathtaking.
Everyone will remember 7 and 15 (deservedly so), but when asked what he thought his best shot of the day was, Rory said the delicate little chip on 3 at 2:38. Then to drip in that slippery putt for birdie was so massive for getting him back on track.
