Also, have you ever actually worked with a real slow laptop? I had an old Toshiba laptop, and I wanted to throw that bloody thing out the window, that's how slow it was at doing the simplest of tasks. Guess what it was running? Windows 10 😂 So I slapped MX Linux on that sucker, and it's faster than it ever was.
I am gaming on Linux with no issues. Currently playing Jedi Survivor and getting better performance on Linux than I did on Windows. On Linux I am able to use higher settings while maintaining the same FPS. Ryzen 7 3700x, 64gb 3600 DDR4, Nvidia GTX 1070
@TuxUser-X11 You didn't even mention which distro that you are using, so I have a high doubt that your comment is valid. Most cult-like deprived Linux users would be very proud of their picked distro, and would announce it so more people can join their little cult, and judging your user name, I can tell you are just another angry penguin. 1, what do you use to install the game? 2, are older games supported? 3, absolutely no issue at all? Do keep in mind that even if your hardware is supported by your distro, most hardware is not optimized.
And yes some Linux users can be cult like but not all of us are. It works well for me but I like to tinker and like the control it get over my system. It's not for everyone, so use what works for you. This works for me 😀
@TuxUser-X11 Tinkering means it doesn't work flawlessly, and it has many issues? For windows 10, install and play. It's that simple. No tinkering is needed. If it works for you, then it’s good, but this doesn’t mean everyone can get it to work like you did.
I really hope Gaben drops Steam OS. I don’t want to upgrade to Windows 11; Where everything I do is recorded, ads are everywhere, and bloatware pre installed.
My boy... 10 years ago, there WAS ONLY Windows 10 😂 You cannot revive old laptops with Windows 10 at all. It's the VERY thing old laptops are running away from. Windows 10 will eventually get phased out, and then what are you gonna do? No more security updates, and it becomes an even bigger target for hackers. Meanwhile, all the common Linux distros still receive feature and security updates. Gaming is also decent on Linux, and is improving as the years go by. You need to learn some computer literacy before making a TH-cam video about computing. You're embarrassing yourself, kid.
@jimmyhails Chrome is a browser. ChromeOS is a browser OS. It's more useless than Linux, but if the application provided by it works for your need, then it's enough. ChromeOS has similar market share as Linux, but it's getting obsolete soon, and since most laptops using ChromeOS are locked to it. This would generate a huge amount of unusable E Waste. Therefore ChromOS is as much trash as Linux, maybe more so.
who cares about stupid games? When I feel like having some fun, I can read books, watch a movie or play on the console. A computer is for serious things. @Radek-Poznanski-q5u You missed the point. People can do whatever they want with their computer, and Windows 10 makes it possible for them to do anything that they want. That is the main point. @therealnambro It could be true, but if your atom is slow, it's going to be slow on any system, but of course, if your old netbook is maintained, then it would run just as fast as it was before on a Win xp or 7.
