Thank you Fr Warner for today's teaching. I really enjoyed listening to your talk. It is so true Father that people make these traditions and point out to a certain few of us who don't want to follow most of them. I hope many people will listen to your talk and break away from these so called traditions.

So true Fr.! The Keeping up with the JONES OR Kardashians is being given the status of the Church requires this! It's so sad. This keeps putting pressure on the ones who are lesser financially sound.

A delightful teaching dear Fr. Warner and one so worthy of introspection. My grandfather used to say, fools make the feast , wise men eat them up. It's crazy to say the least when ,in the midst of grief, people fret and sweat over what they will serve after Mass, and what memento they will present to the attendees at the months mind , and there are "n" number of free loaders who will make sure they hang on to partake of these freebies, all of which come at an avoidable cost. Better to gift that same money to a deserving charity, and to people who actually need. A very thought provoking teaching and one that should be widely shared amongst our flock.. Well done Fr. Warner !!!

Thanks Father for your teaching today. I agree with you tgat we must break away from the traditions attached to Catholic funerals & weddings. The money spent can help a poor family especially in these difficult times.

Cleanliness for Jesus was a moral virtue which consisted of the love of God and of the neighbour and not in human traditions. Thank you Fr. for today's reflection and we Catholics in particular need to break away from human traditions. Rather, we should cling to God's commandments. Prayers for you, Dad and family. AMEN!

Tkyou Fr.Warner for putting forth so succinctly ,the "burden" of Traditions, instead of focussing on Our God's Commandments. The money spent on 'boxes' could be given to those in Real need, and there are many in these days of lockdown. Trixie T..

Thank you Rev Fr Warner For Powerful Teachings with so much of Meaningfully and Make it So easy to Understand
And with little bit Humorous and interesting It's Not Tradition Matter More then Being Faithful , And to be obedient and Devoted to God with Fear of God.

So completely agree with today's teaching. People ape each other blindly. It's ridiculous how people waste money they don't have, trying to impress others by grand celebrations on occasions like first Holy communions, baptisms and weddings.

God be with you Father Warner. Yes. We must worship through faith and by the spirit. Not through a cup of coffee or plate of food at a human ceremony. These ceremonies are important but not for the purpose of quenching thirst and hunger of the body. But that of the spirit. Thank you Father Warner for your insight into such an important aspect of our Blessed Lord’s teachings. Glory be to the Heavenly Father, the Blessed Lord Christ Jesus and the Holy Ghost.

Bless you Fr. Warner for not being afraid to call a spade a spade; I too am one who believes these are silly traditions and have never followed them and have had people probably think I'm just miserly (which is not true). I think the money spent on all these nonsensical traditions will help so many poor people and I believe in using it for that purpose. Thank you for today's reflection.

Today's homily should compel us to reflect deeply n meditatively.Fr. you are one of the few priests who never hesitates to call a spade a spade n to tell the facts as they really are.I do hope that it makes us reflect on all the useless things we do.Weddings 1st Communions,Baptisms are really one big spectacle. The whole essence n holiness,n sanctity of the Mass is lost. The worst are funerals, month's mind etc,the relatives are grieving, sad, mourning,n trying to come to terms with their loss n then you have to deal with people eating n drinking,it's almost like a party.Still on the subject of man made traditions n conforming to God's laws is one is one that is confusing. The 4th commandment Good said the seventh day n we observe the first day.I attend Mass on Saturday n Sunday to be on the safe side.I thank you Fr for making us all awareI pray daily for you n our PP.

One of the best reflections so thank you Fr. Warner. Indeed now all sacraments have become more of a competition of who can spend more and entertain people better even if it comes at the cost of taking a loan. It's important to get back to the focus of the sacrament being celebrated than all the frills attached 🙏❤️

Absolutely agree with you Father, following traditions is good to a certain extent but letting it overpower you is bad. Puts alot of pressure on average people who cant afford it but will beg, borrow just to keep up with what's expected of them in order not to offend anyone. But we need to break away from these unnecessary traditions. Times have changed n we hv to be practical. Kudos to Jesus who stood upto the pharisees even at that time n kudos to you too, Father.
God bless you for yr outspokeness.

Hello Fr. CORRECT ! . This is man made tradition. It has become a MUST. JESUS said " U have a clever way of rejecting GOD'S law in order to upload ur own teaching". YES... The poor gets tensed to face this man made tradition. LORD help us to put off old tradition n all its deceitful desires, create us a new in ur likeness, make us righteous n holy, strength us in the fullness of your ❤️ love. AMEN. God bless u your dad n fly. 🙏🕊️🕯️❤️.

So well explained. We really need to break away from all human traditions. We forget to be spiritualistic and are so ritualistic. My view is that whenever we explain what's right there will be controversy but you always express yourself beautifully and i think we should be open to it and see that we can change. Hearing it is one thing but putting it into practice is important. Thankyou Fr Warner. You truly are inspirational. Keep up the great work. God bless you

Truly said about current traditions that we have been blindly following and not question or stop what we may not like due to what the community would say. Rightly said those who can afford it will flaunt it however those who can't afford should not be looked upon as they all follow the same Jesus and sacrements are not discriminated hope message is understood and implemented to bring a change

Just heard you, Fr.Warner.Yes, it's time we did away with all these traditions and focus on the Sacraments. You hit the nail on the head.My day used to say that when u attend a Wedding, make the best if it but when you go for a funeral, don't trouble the family who are in their own sorrow by staying on to eat or drink. You r known to be a fluent speaker n your message was loud n clear.Just going to look up the dictionary for the meaning of myopic

Fr I am against these tradition but it has become a ritual so much so people begin to comment.if you have a closer look we are doing exactly how Hindus do they have a ceromeny if any one dies and after 7or10 day they feed people.I tried to make my family understand this but they say what will the people say.
