The WInd X98 R2 is in a weird spot in todays current line up of boards. On one hand it does what it wants to do well and is easy enough to switch from Southpaw to standard. On another hand, there are keyboards with similar layouts and offerings for less. The premium here would be the ability to pick and choose what layout you want as well as a top mount system with some flexibility on where to mount it.
I love the ano quality and the fact this also has a poly carb offering is also fun. It's easy to tell this will resonate with some who have been after this layout and easy-to-change layout but i will still have a tough time competing with other boards more aggressively priced than this.

Finance bro here. All numpads should be on the left since your right hand is on the mouse. I use left sided numpad from epomaker and love it but theirs gave up the arrows which is annoying.

I got a separate numpad just so I could put it on the left and keep my right hand on the mouse. That is such a clean single-piece keyboard though
If I didn't fall to HE, this would be my dream keyboard. 75% on the right, full sized on the left.
I use a separate numpad on the left because the keychron q12 isnt wireless and the wind x boards are never available

Wind also has the regular windx r2 which has southpaw without the f keys
Exactly my question. In southpaw region I was currently in Keychron Q pro or Epomaker class as it was one of few I´ve found. If I´d like to aim to something upper than those two, what are my options? Also some wireless capabilities (BT and/or else) are mandatory.

Just an FYI for anyone considering the polycarbonate version of this board: The PC version has no metal inserts for the screw holes so you are screwing into the plastic of the board itself, meaning the durability of the PC version is questionable.
Good call out here, I had no idea since I didn't get to review the PC version. Very important.
I was very disappointed with R1 creams on ALU sound dead as fuck I don’t know how it was my wife’s keyboard, and I recently picked up a Bina to replace it so much better now
R1 really needed the foam to sound full and decent. They fixed that by making the PCB not a flex cut mess.
proprietary daughter boards are meh.but if they make them open source i dont mind too much.
