- Filmmakers Michael and Janeen Damian are no strangers to telling stories. Together, they’ve written and produced 12 films, including the popular reboot of the Flicka franchise and Marley & Me: The Puppy Years for 20th Century Fox, Lionsgate/Hallmark’s A Princess for Christmas, and the critically acclaimed indie film Moondance Alexander. For their latest venture, the duo decided to write a tale that took them back to their roots. “Janeen is a dancer, and I am a musician… so we wanted to make a film celebrating those two worlds that mean so much to us,” Michael explains. Janeen, who is the daughter of late actor James Best (The Dukes of Hazzard), spent the bulk of her career performing as an ‘A’ list jazz/contemporary dancer in film and television, but she began her career as a classical dancer.
Just by chance watched this movie on Netflix. Don't understand why I hadn't heard of it before. It is a fabulous movie - very feel good. Great music, acting, dancing. Good mix of classical and hip-hop - loved the mix.
I love this movie so much …. I watched this beautiful work 5 times and telling everyone I know to see this masterpiece…. I am now a big fan of Keenan Kampa and Nicholas Galitzine

His great great grandfather Prince Nicholas Dmitrievich Galitzine was the last Russian President of the Council of Ministers with Tsar Nicholas II, when the February Revolution started. Very few know about his Russian and Social Background, just among the Russian community of émigrés in London and Paris. But Galitzine or Golytsin is indeed one of the oldest princely houses of the Russian Empire. They have more than 1000 years of history.
Interesting, um do you think he doesn't highlight his history for a reason? OR?... Similar to Birdie, who is relative to some kind of Duke. She sang on the soundtrack of a pop movie Beyond The Lights.

Loved High Strung. Even though Nick couldn't play the violin to save his life, I enjoyed the energy the entire cast brought to the movie. But of course Johnnie's brooding good looks were the main draw 🥰
