It was really emotional watching this video. Seeing the family working together, preparing food, laughing and mocking each other, it really made me "home sick" I'm down south Island by myself studying and even though I love it, I miss my family EVERYDAY. As pacific Islanders, this is exactly who we are as people. Thank you for the beautiful video

Okay as a māori this was SOOOO GOOOD educational wise and just content was all around so good we need this 🙏🏼 Kia Ora for this and I’ve just tried (excuse me if I butcher this) lamb lusipi? Ughhh was beautiful and I’ve now started my journey into true pacific and Polynesian kai it’s beautiful and I gotta growling for asking for a fork and got taught how to eat the Lu with my hands and use my tongue properly by a Tongan Aunty standing behind me in line 😂😂 but still I love all Polynesian cultures and traditions it makes me feel more at home here in Aoteroa seeing my Polynesian brothers and sisters thrive well that’s me as a māori anyway my whanau sending nothing but love and again grateful for this experience 🧡

The Moa looks fire!!! Love the outdoor stove pops is cooking on. Love the camera ladies laughter right away!
WOW! I have been around a lot of Samoans over the last 20+ years, but I have never seen those big grate things for the Taro! Can't wait to see the Faausi (have never heard of it).
Fa'afetai Lava for having some English subtitles, that helps out us Palagi's enjoy the video more!💗
When making the sauce, and melting the brown sugar. Is that just a rock in the middle of the sauce? What keeps it burning like that? So cool!!! Wait, it must be the sugar huh?😂
I am actually typing while I am watching, so I am guessing that the Taro paste/dough is being turned into like a Taro Bread? Can't wait to find out!
That multi-level umu is Amazing btw! It is also the biggest umu I have ever seen!
2 am and going to McDonalds? 😂...I guess things there are the same as in America!👍
Whoa! When Uso almost fell, I thought he was passing out from cooking for so long!😂😂
Oh, so you mix it together after baking in the Umu...is it like a fruit cake? Can you just eat the Kalo cake/bread by itself? It is still good by itself?
So nice that so many people are showing up for what you all made. Is your family giving it away, or do they sell it?
So enjoyed the video sister...you have a new subbie now (#725)!💖 Alofa Atu to you and your Aiga! Look forward to the next video!🥰🥰🥰

      @Teine Samoa & Tama Palagi:
(hehe) my father-in-law loves to collect modern-vintage style things(stove).. embracing the 60's...
sorry, I tried with the subtitles (but thank you)...
(Sauce) theirs a steel/metal rack (stand) that's in the sauce.. so the rock is able to sit on top of the rack/stand while pouring the sugar on the hot/burning rock to caramelize the sauce....which will give that extra smoky flavor to the sauce....& because the rock is extremely hot, when pouring the sugar causes that fire to burn like that...
Yes, you can have it with just the Taro. but trust me, the sauce completes this dish (Heaven)..
I prefer the sauce made this way' instead of the pan. just cause it won't have that smoky flavor...
so if you ever get your hands on this dish. I do hope its made the UMU way (which is how its made in this video)..
thank you again for watching/Subbing. appreciate its heaps.
      Thank you again.

Which you can have any time of the day (a delicacy treat😍) I’ll still have steak on bbq but to finish it off with this as a treat 😅💕... aww thank you so much for stopping by/ watching 🙌🏽.. appreciate it a lot.
