Great Video Gaffer & Gear , I actually happen to own two of these units for my Studio Work , having a light head less than 7 Kilo cheers every director and film maker as its so light to mount even on a Baby Boom arm , With 350 Watts of power for you Buck its certainly a Mutation in Technology Achievement for every aspect of Videography & Photography ... Many Thanks for all your efforts providing such a great Technical Data through your channel..
I’ve been on Luminaire for years now. But looking to move to blackout maybe my next project. I also love my AKS by RatPac, but I’ve been eying the direct link Cerise system. I really like the idea of not having to connect through WIFI or a Ethernet switch.
Great Review as always. I like the fact that it has 16bit DMX. That In my opinion makes it a good possible replacement for the Nova. Also built in CRMX, batteries plates and a weather resistant head that is lighter good for offsets and boom arms. I did some movies with the Spanish Velvet power panels which had great optics and throw. Better than Creamsource, but terrible DMX and only Bi-color. I like the Vortex 4 but that light is heavy… How’s the lower end dimming compared to the Nova? I would love to see what the actual output is of some of these fixtures are at the very bottom end. I do so many low light movie scene and it’s amazing how many times a take some of these brighter lights all the way to the bottom. I know you can always put netting or ND gel but if it high and In a rig sometimes I have to move quick and use what’s available. I know you already have so much in your reviews would be a nice additional info. Thanks again for the video.
@@joeaddison After a few days of playing with it I was confident enough to have this on set as my full replacement. The exalux will still be used on Gaffer & Gear until I get my audio sorted out as my 4 universe transmitter for blackout uses all the same frequencies as my current radio mic.
Awesome review as always! Could you please check out Smallrig RC 60C and RC 220B Pro next? I think that those are very interesting especially the 220B Pro, it has everything for half the price and I wonder is there something hidden :D
It’s good to see them adding speakers to lights. Gives a vibe during set up! 😂 Cool light. I like the output, but not sure on the panel size, or why not get a 720b for more power? I get its full color.
@gaffergear I already predict that the 1000c is a home run in its category. Personally, I'm eyeing the 80c with fresnel as a good DMX light to use as boom light (side lights) on a stage for my wife's dance recitals (she owns a dance school). I'm really excited to see how the HSI output compares to the 300c.
Nanlite take on the Skypannel S30-C (with 100w more)... Not sure about it. S30 used is 899... Nanlite is 1500 new...You get 100W more power on the Nanlite, and a slimmer design through... Not that interested, not bad either.
@@danialsharghi249 Yes and no. This is a spot configuration and the Novo is a flood. So if you wanted maximum light regardless of beam angle the Alien is way brighter. Easily 2 to 3 times. But if you wanted a very even wide flood (let's say lighting a green screen) the Alien would require its full diffusion and soft box to match the beam angle of the Nova. So the Nova is roughly twice as bright as a flood unit compared to the Alien.
This channel is amazing. As a director trying to understand light, gear and what to rent and buy I appreciate you.
Thanks for getting around to this one. These have been on my radar for a while.

Great review as usual! Do you plan on reviewing the Godox P600bi/P600r/P1200r? Definitely considering buying them
Also the new Godox full color Flex panels. Hopefully you get a chance to do those reviews as well.

@@joewebb5138 I think in my DMX section I would do dimming cues 10% to 0% as well as from 100 as standard.
Awesome, great review and an interesting light
Nice to see you playing around with blackout, are you using on set as a full replacement for your exalux system or are you still in the testing phase?

Love your vids!
As a DP shooting a lot of highspeed I'm curious to know about banding and if they are dimmable in a 1000fps scenario.
Thanks!
How does this compare to the Nova P300c in your opinion?
