Offshore Trough Dynamics

In this video, I talk about the most interesting feature of South West Monsoon called the OFFSHORE TROUGH, which is known to give massive rains to West Coast of India. Find out the dynamics of this feature.
OFFSHORE TROUGH: Most important feature for west coast rains during South West Monsoon season.
Higher the wind speed, stronger the trough.
Stronger the trough, more cyclonic vorticity is deposited, resulting in dense cloud band formation close to the coast.
Winds push bands towards the land resulting in continuous rainfall.
OFFSHORE TROUGH brings lot of moisture.
Depending on position of monsoon trough & low pressure system in Bay of Bengal, South Konkan/Kerala/North Konkan gets activated. Strong winds push bands to interior Ghats.

North-south oscillation of offshore trough is also dependent on the Heat low over Pakistan adjoining Rajasthan.

Excellent video, this was very informative, I have 3 questions-
1. Do the Western Ghats play a role in the formation of the trough?
2. As the trough forms far out at sea, does it give more rain out at sea than over land?
3. When the monsoon trough moves very far up north,close to the foothills of the Himalayas, rain over Bombay reduces considerably, why?
