The Sudden Uprising [SFM]

- Here is an animation about mercs being suddenly ambushed by an army of zombies!
I started working on this SFM in October, and it was planned as a short 30-40s clip, but I decided to expand on it (that's why there is Merasmus and a carved pumpkin in the clip).
This took longer than it should've been, and there were a lot of bugs I encountered while making it, like the die regime-panzerung cosmetic had bugged texture that took me days to fix and so on.
A lot of stuff happened while making this vid, Minecraft mob vote, the part 2 of the cliffs and caves update was released, we got cool new maps from smismass update implemented into tf2's map pool, the war in Ukraine, Will Smith slapped Chris Rock, the Reddit r/place event, the court case of Johny Depp and Amber Herd, and the TF2 community having enough of no updates.
I might continue, or I might not continue this SFM, because I am lazy.

nice animaton! but one critique i have is that sometimes the animation looks a bit slow / floaty and gravity is slow but other than that its awesome

I wanted to say that your SFM style looks very cartoony and almost S2FM style like!
especially on 0:35, or 2:15 or.. man everywhere in your animation!
Those models look sooooo nice and clean.
How did you do it, I wonder.
Any specific commands, do you use different map_picmip or mat_phong?
Or is it just something simple, like the way you light or your camera settings?
I would really like to know.. 😅
I didn't really use any specific commands that changed the look of the project; i mostly use just simple stuff: For my camera i just play around with the field of view, focal distance and aperture. I like to bump in a few shots the aperture pretty high, so i get that separation between the background and the characters in the frame.
As for the lighting, i use the basic 3-point lighting technique for most scenes, but in some shots i use a specific type of rim light from this tutorial th-cam.com/video/S4TX3yGhxrQ/w-d-xo.html by Alta, this is mostly for more static shots were the characters don't move that much.
My render settings are basic with the motion blur disabled. After i export my animation, i like to color grade it in a video editor like Davinci Resolve.

hey hello ammm.. i already have ideas of a zombie thing for TF2 but was BLU team vs RED zombies, because RED already fight BLU robots and also i have ideas for new zombies types if you want i can tell ones

Sadly, no demo and pyro. Animating all 9 classes would've taken much longer, and for the last scenes it would've been a bit too big of a crowd of people.
