I think of it that you get the benefit of attacking the mostly undefended side of venom as a reward for clearing area 6 which is probably the most epic normal stage. Its like Andross thought that his fleet was undefeatable so put most of his ground forces on the easy path.
THIS Level has the most intense start of any Starfox 64 Levels, ESPECIALLY in heroic Mode (where your wings fall of at the slightest collision).... If you werent 100% focused you would die within the first minute of this stage. God i hate all theese kamikazi ships and all the landmasters who shoot directly at you. You need to trust your instincts very hard! I love it!

He literally created a false version of himself and a large path for Star Fox to face because he expected Fox and company to attack Bolse considering it's the safest way to approach Venom but the hardest way to get to Andross' palace, even Star Wolf is sent near Bolse to scout the zone

@@corjonbett I mean Area 6 might be right on top of Andross's palace but that's why it's so heavily defended. Star Fox would never consider doing something as insane as going through Area 6 unless they get really motivated with Macbeth/Sector Z's good ending
Pity we didn't have this since Melee. When I saw that it have Venom as a stage, I expected this theme to hear during the games... Then I was disappointed when I knew that that wasn't the case, the BGM is still great though

It took me years to realize how to get to the other planets of this game. Like one time I got to Sector Y and didn't know how to get to Aquas and onwards. So I didn't know ANYTHING about the other planets.
I keep hearing about expert mode for this stage but I have yet to get all the medals so please fill me in as much as possible on how to avoid losing every arwing I stored since Corneria.
First beat this game on christmas eve in 1998 I finally beat Macbeth and witnessed Bolse, then the start of this level, fucking tsunami of fighters out of nowhere "Time to show these monkeys whose boss!" Man, just fucking plowed through Andross' defenses.
I have yesterday play this level, I played in expert modus,I died many times in the satelit level and then I dies on the beginn of Venom. With the last life what I have and broken wings I havewin this level this had a realy realistic feeling in the figt in this level.
@swainize yeah but i do like destroying andross & not a decoy plus i like the part of the hard where u hav to keep up w/james mccloud to get out of the planet core.
i like the opening of venom from bolse. going thru all those enemy fighters was awesome. when it came to the splits, falco or peppy were who i followed. slippy was annoying.
