Great update vid. Your emersed plants have really taken off.
4:27 I like the idea of a mini rice fish pond. And I especially like the color of that huge bowl/container. I noticed how clear the water is too, thanks to the plants no doubt. :D
@@RyoWatanabee Yea absolutely, that too.
Free water changes and good plant filtration does wonder 😁
Very cool! Definitely gonna try this soon with some different ludwigia cuttings!
Brilliant video it’s completely clear from you content that you care for all your plants and livestock and I wouldn’t be concerned in acknowledging comments from know it all keyboard warriors ❤
bsd stands for Bumi Serpong Damai, it Is a city in Indonesia where that plant was found. Thats why it names rotala bsd
hey i was inspired by one of your earlier videos, i dont have any outdoor space because im in a small apartment but i use a little bin filled with fluval and water to grow my aquatic plants just so i can save money and plant them in my aquariums, shocked at how simple it is lol
Yes, it’s very simple and easy to grow aquatic plants emersed :) thanks!
👍🏻👍🏻
Hi 👋🏻- I love your videos and learn so much , thank you 😊 I have a ? Do you have any filters in your goldfish pond or is it plants only ? I have 110 gallon stock pond with plants and a filter but thinking of removing filter and adding more plants 🪴 - would that be okay for 3 shubunkin
Thanks! Yes mine is 100 gallons no filter, just plants. Hope this helps :)
Thanks the update on your plants, do Comet Goldfish eat duckweed?
I haven’t tried giving them duckweed but I’m sure they’ll eat to some extent
I’ve worked on plants my whole life and crossed over to aquatics. My advice if you don’t want crossover or to be confused by your rotis just move them so there’s other very different species in between 😉
What about building a sump and then running trickle/ overflow like a betta rack. that should give you some more time before the water runs out. BTI would keep down the mosquitos.
That’s a cool idea but seems like a lot of work and bettas would not survive our winter. I also don’t have any power outlets on this side of the house
@@RyoWatanabee I was saying only how it opperates like a betta rack. Not suggesting you start keeping bettas let alone outside in Japan. I used to build hydroponic gardens and well if its not on a timer and a reservoir, I'm going to forget to make sure it has water. th-cam.com/video/NIyqN0-sHxs/w-d-xo.html
Ryo san does ranchu goldfish live outside in the mini pond like yours without aeration
I am in Osaka right now with family. Any really nice aquarium stores in the Shinsaibashi area?
In Osaka, I only know of aquarium Tallman, aqua taylors, and ada lab umeda
How's the transition when you put it back into fully submerged tank? Is there a huge die off?
Not much die off at all. The emersed leaves will fall off but not instantly
hhah😂 we also use mosquito repellent like this in india
try getting ludwigia mato grosso try using worm poop soil and top soil clay
The garden has come a long way! Thanks for the emersed plant update, your videos have inspired me to start my own emersed grow out containers. I've only got one container, indoors and under grow lights to start.
17:32 allowing the wounded end to callus over (1-2 days or so) should reduce risk of the soil rotting the cut end.
Thank you for your advice! Good luck with your emersed plants :)
