Love your videos, Carol! Here’s a suggestion for a video series..... Have each of the four types do something that we can watch like cleaning up a room, for example. I think that would be pretty telling.

Yes, it has taken me a while. At first I thought I was a Type 1, then a Type 3. Now I’m sure that I’m a T4 S1. I’m not formal, and I don’t have a structured day. Yet it shows up in lots of places. I don’t enjoy grocery shopping; so I have a an app for having grocery list. I can get in and out efficiently. I have lots of systems in place. I always thought I was lazy, but now I realize I have set things up so I don’t have to be always doing. I can be still and be “being.” As a deep thinker, I need quiet time.

That’s how my journey started! I thought I was a 3- I was opinionated and outgoing, what else could I be? Lol. Lo and behold, I’m a 1/4. Makes so much more sense!! And instead of feeling like a 3 who wasn’t very good at (I drop a lot of balls), I can recognize that I get excited by the ideas of things, but get bored with the slogging to results. I am so much happier and life is much more fun!!

I'm a 1/3. I have 8 kids. Crazy, I know. I have 1/4 and 4/1 and 4/2 daughters. They always stumped me before I read your books. Now they make total sense. I wish I'd had your books when my kids were small to better serve their needs. I also have 2/1 son, 2/3 daughter, 2/3 son, 3/1 daughter, 3/1 son and I'm married to a 3/2 husband. I did exactly this, thought I was a type 3 when I am a 1/4. I am a project manager and can be a complete bulldog at achieving what I set out to do. However, through profiling, I can see that I have a quality that make this process fun and light. I've learned so much from your work Carol. I can't thank you enough. I was so unhappy as I purchased more and more drab, flowy clothing and now know why! Having "permission" to get back to my preppy roots has made me so happy!

So thankful for the comments. I can really relate to you 1/4s. I've lived most my adult life as T3. Stressed out and health compromised, I started considering different types, after my sister introduced me to DYT. I tried them all. Lol! I felt lost for a good part of 2 years working through my issues. I've finally chilled out enough to be ok with who I am. I have true joy in my life, my family functions better and I can now make life choices that actually work for ME. Our lives are never perfect, but embracing how we are made brings so much joy. 🌸

Very interesting re multi-tasking. I recognise your description of a type 3 multitasker very strongly. I see my tasks in the day/week/month like spokes in a wheel. I am the hub of that wheel and the tasks are the spokes, going out to the rim of that wheel and all moving forward as one to create a forward motion. When you explained that T3 way of being I thought 'Yes!' Recognition!

Thank you Carol! Such a good video! 💕
Yes, on the course I fit in with each type. After reading your book It's Just My Nature I leaned to T1 but was unsure on my facial profiling because of my eyes & chin. I saw the circles, hearts, my smile my eyes kind of do too . In movement & personality I'm hopeful, up for fun, have always been told have great complexion and look much younger than I am. But then I looked at behavior as I don't doodle as t1, but I don't finish all my great ideas as t3 ( aside from work ) . I used to multitask as a mom & at work as it was necessary and I adjusted to the roles. I like all things comfy as t2 but like t4 colors. I used to dress as t3 when younger & have mostly t3 jewelry.
I now own mostly black, white & gray clothing.
But I'm finding as through your free course was told I was t1 that it's very freeing. I own heavier, chunky jewelry but don't wear it. It hangs out lol.
I look brighter in t1 colors. I'm loving wearing pearl shaped earrings & a bit of gold.🤩 and some bright colors are becoming appealing to me. I'm seeing the yellows & other t1 colors throughout my home as accent colors.
I'm coming to realize I dressed in black to not stand out.
I think as we look at our true nature & movement we can filter out the needed tos and supposed tos as well as the don'ts and see our true selves peeking through.
    Thank you again! 💃

I was a Lifestyle Member for almost 2 years after discovering the many wonders of DYT. I had determined, under no uncertain terms, that I was T3/2 because I absolutely knew (and didn't want anyone telling me otherwise!) that I was a double YIN-YANG often *at odds* within. For all the reasons (and some!) so well-explained by Carol in this video, I had mistaken my T1/4 to be a T3. I did the 30 day challenge for 2 long years as a mistyped T3 who loves to play dress up as a T3 while dropping the ball on (mostly) everything a T3 has on their to do list. It just never felt like I was dressing my genuine truth. I could see it in the mirror, in many pictures; something was just off. In June 2019, I left Lifestyles and DYT deciding that I'd wear whatever I darn-well pleased because *I didn''t like being told what to do, anyway!* and because I had stopped having any fun!!! When I reunited with my style guide and Carol's book a few weeks ago I had some very emotional *ah-ha's* facial profiling all my circles and apple cheeks and star-points and dimples and freckles. AND I read the T4 chapter for the very first time. It ALL made sense. Yes, I am that T1/4 double Yin-Yang woman who mistook herself to be a T3. And the serious fun has just begun! ;)~

I’m listening. I thought I was a Type 3/4 because I hurry in a grocery store, mostly because I want to get out of there. More and more, I realize that I have avoided admitting I am a Type 1/4 because my type was not honored in my home or in my culture. I grew up in a corporate executive type of environment where status and achievement was primary. I’ve always dressed like a Type 4 because it is refined, and I have dark hair. Lots of black. I’ve always felt like I was in a straight jacket. So as I admit that consistency is not my modus operandi, I see that Type 3 is way too heavy and serious for me.

I think you are onto something with regard to a small group of people. This system reminds me a little of Myers-Briggs applied to styling. But unlike Myers Briggs which is based on Jungian type theory, and is predicated on people growing and becoming better over time at their secondary, tertiary, and quarternary functions, this one is predicated on a the primary type being somehow permanently set in stone which makes little sense in terms of human psychological health over a lifetime. People do grow. This system is based on stereotypes which may work for styling but is unlikely to work for everyone.

Actually I think my secondary is a 4 I can get all or nothing, like I have to be all the secondary types can't just pick 1 and settle, or otherwise I just toss the secondaries out of my mind and be all 1! And the fact I could play the part as a 4 my whole life very well could mean it was my secondary I was falling into.. an over developed secondary. I also wonder if the 1/4 4/1 combo has a tendency towards ocd thinking. Like a child(type 1 energy) is running around and the mother or athority figure (type 4. Energy) is chasing after the type 1 energy trying to settle it down and correct it etc etc
And after alot of trauma and wounding the secondary 4 also becomes toxic and turns into the bullying thoughts towards the type 1 child thoughts, and the type 1 energy is so underdeveloped because of trauma that it is also toxic because it hasn't had enough turns in the front seat, and you start to feel like a child who hasn't grown up properly.
Or I could be a 1/3 and it's the 3 bossing me around? I could be a 1/3 who used to think was a 4. I am very good at pushing myself. Maybe I do it too hard and I turn into my own bully.
I am spinning. It hasn't even been a month of dressing my truth as a type 1 and I'm already trying to figure out my secondary. I need to slow down abit and enjoy my type 1ness that's been locked away.
I don't relate to the one track thing I don't to single focus at all. I thrive on multitasking I feeli naturally fall back onto a type 3 kind of energy after my primary 1 and then once the type 3 energy is burnt out I turn on to the 4 or 2 energy at the back.
