o’asaina ma’ase Chamorros didn’t say “cheehoo” nor did we do the Tahitian scream he was referring to as well. Actually there is no account or written record that Chamorros even performed the dances portrayed in this video. The outfits and movements above are very similar if not exactly from Hawaiian hula. Chamorros did not wear grass skirts. Chamorros were naked and only the Chamorri or upper caste Chamorro nobles were allowed to wear forms of clothing. We may be all connected although there are still distinctions between our cultures. Malekña hao fa’nå’gue hit naya.
Dude Micros from other parts of the region has their own.Never in history did we shout out "Cheehoo".Ours is "Waiooo/Weeeooo" for cheering during cultural dances,feasts and such. Don't group other native Micros with Chamorros.Their culture is just.....tragically too lost.While the rest of us keep intact with ours.
