When I first heard this I was laying on my bed and seriously I thought I was going to die for I laughed so much I had to fall off the.bed to gain some semblance of control,honestly it took me ages to recover so please don’t lay down when listening to Billy you could die laughing 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Defos agree with you on the UK front, however not so much when it comes to the 'Murricans. Their most popular comedians have probably never even heard of Billy - people like Andrew Schulz, Tom Segura and the eminently punchable Bert Kreischer! These guys fill stadiums over there and they're just AWFUL 😅
To be fair, Shane Gillis, Bill Burr, guys like that who really are funny probably know about Billy. He's a living legend!

I just don’t laugh that hard at comedians even if they are as good as Billy.
I grew up watching Billy,and he doesn't live a million miles from me apparently, unfortunately he's not too well now.
There is so much of his stuff to react to,it's hard to know where to start.
But one of my favourites is the story of the two guys photographing lions on the Serengeti!

Great reaction as always you guys. I've watched Billy's Colonoscopy routine many times and even though I know exactly what's coming, I still go to pieces. He was one of the greatest comedy geniuses I ever saw in all my 72 years. 🙋♂🙋♂

Thankfully he toured the Antipodes many times. I caught his show 4 times. Could never get enough. Have you caught any of Pamela's work ?
Some of his very early stuff back in the 70's is worth a listen as it was issued on L.P.'s and had us schoolchildren in stitches, but the accent is a bit stronger and non-Brits might struggle with some parts

The clip at the start was because it's from a series he did called Billy Connolly's World Tour Of New Zealand. He did a few of these starting with Scotland in the 90s and they combined him doing a sort of travel show with clips from the shows on the tour.
I had one of these earlier this year and yes the pre-procedure is worse than the actual camera part. Afterwards, as they pump air in to inflate you for a better view, the nurses won't let you leave until you audibly pass it. I'm not kidding.
Billy referring to his wife Pam, she was in Not The Nine O'clock News along with other things, her take on Kate Bush was good.

I had a colonoscopy at the start of the year. The clearing out of the intestines is the worst part, the colonoscopy itself was no problem and nothing anyone should worry about.
Mike...just to say that for any of us, you need to share with your partner everything that happens to them, however messy or grisly it is, even when it includes shit. That's when you must care wholeheartedly for your loved one. It's not about you, it's about them. Robert, uk.

I have had several colonoscopys.....this is real... very real.....
I had an endoscopy 8 years ago, had to take the same stuff to clear you out. For me I'd of swapped for a colonoscopy any day, having that TV Camera shoved down your throat while awake. People if you ever have to go through this, don't do what I did and be put to sleep.

The stuff is called picolax here in the UK and you mix it with a pint of water. I was told to drink a pint of it the night before my procedure and another the morning before I went to the hospital. Having the same experience as Billy with the first dose there was no way I was having more the next morning as I would have shit myself on the way to the hospital.

funny you should mention New Zealand and Lord of the Rings at the beginning. Billy was actually in The Hobbit movie in the final battle in part three of the trilogy. He played the Chieftain of the Dwarfs so you may not recognise him at first as he was a bit shorter in the movie and he is riding a goat, but his accent is unmistakeable! 😁
Billy is the GOAT when it comes to comedy, the Liam Neeson cat story is one you should watch next from Billy, followed by farting on a plane.
I think that might be the hardest we've seen Mike laugh... noted! 😜

He is so good at what he does, and having that experience, it was so spot on and totally funny 😂
Billy Connolly is the most nutural stand up comic I've ever seen. It never feels like an "act" or "routine" with him. It's just a very warm and funny guy coming on stage telling hilarious stories.
We all must at one point experience this mostly 50 onwards have you guys herd of mirren marigolds if not look her name up on the Graham norton show. Love your reactions

A number of years later Billy and his Family were on Holiday Abroad and he took very Ill. Back Home he had to go for a Prostate Examination. That is another very funny story. Have you heard the Song, 'James Blunt The Girl Who Never Was'? If you haven't it a Very Good and Sad Song. Every Parents worst Nightmare.
One of the top natural comedians of all time. Saw him live he goes off the topic he's discussing and gets even funnier. Also good actor starred with Tom Cruise(last samurai) and Dame Judy Dench (Mrs. Brown) where she starred as Queen Victoria. So versatile he's a one off! 😂😂

I am in New Zealand, and I’m booked in for a colonoscopy next Wednesday! 2 for the price of one!! I’m not really looking forward to it after Billy’s description…
The scenic scene at the start isn't really that strange when you know that this stand up clip was taken from his tv show Billy connolly's world tour of New Zealand, the show itself is just Billy going around NZ talking to odd/strange people who do strange weird things...he adds little segments of his stand up show in amongst it...that clip was one such segment.

Billy did quite a few tours of various countries on his huge three wheel motorbike. It was a combination of a documentary and cuts to his comedy shows. In New Zealand there are hot springs and by happy coincidence they shot the film of them and slotted in the colonoscopy piece 😊

And he literally NEVER writes down an act! He just walks on and makes it up. His tour manager back in the 80s didn't believe him when he said he didn't plan his act, so he bet the manager he could do a totally unique and different act every night of tour to prove it. 21 dates later the tour manager believed him and had to pay the total drinks bill for the tour as part of the bet. Bearing in mind billy was an alcoholic at the time and named his tours after alcoholic drinks, that must have been one hell of a bill!

Mike, if you feel scared at 30-something, try being 48 going on 49.... I'd say I'm shitting myself over it, but that would be the actual thing, not the fear beforehand! Yikes! A number of comedians have joked about colonoscopies, and comments under them each and every damn time are 'yep that's spot on' (I'm looking at you StuartMc! lol) damn, I'm scared! lol

Jess you tell it like it is love. There's nothing delicate about the experience. I've had a colonoscopy and it's brutal. The way it's explained "We're just going to pop a camera up your back passage to see what's going on. They don't mention the compressed air that accompanies the camera!
After the examination and the camera removed the doctor said "All done I hope that wasn't too bad"
My reply "I hope you don't have to repeat the process. You told me about the camera but mentioned nothing about the lighting crew, sound engineer and director!"
To add insult to injury as I sat up I expelled a loud and raspy fart (thankfully odourless) as the remaining air they pumped into me made its way out!
Mike you have all this to look forward to in later life. At age 60 they screen you for bowel cancer by requesting a stool sample every couple of years.
I joined a woodworking class to provide a sample stool.
They explained you have a postcard sized container with 3 windows of clear plastic and a small plastic spatula. Using the spatula you scrape a small 'sample' on each window of plastic seal them shut and mail the samle to the lab for testing!

Billy was in The Lord Of The Rings Trilogy,though he only appears in the final volume of The Hobbit Trilogy, he makes an impression as Dain Ironfoot, Thorin's cousin who comes to his aid when the latter is besieged in Erebor.he has been in a few movies over the course of his career in person or with his voice in animation movies,so glad you have finally gotten round to reacting to this,it's a classic just like the dwarf on the bus
He was in a "minor" movie called " The Man Who Sued God" set in Australia. Difficult to find,but I loved it.

Oh,yup,that prep is to insure you are COMPLETELY “empty” and,believe me,by the next day,you most certainly will be! 🚽🧻 I’ve had 2 colonoscopies,and since you’re put into “twilight” sleep,the procedure itself (IMHO) is easier than the prep. However,part of the procedure is “inflating” your colon with air or CO2 to make it easier to see all surfaces. So,for a while AFTER it’s over,you can minimize your embarrassment,by wearing shoes that “squeak” in that very special way,to help mask the whistling sphincter that will be entertaining you(and those around you)for the rest of the day!! 🤣😳🫢. Oh,yes,I’m definitely guilty of TMI and I truly apologize,but nobody gave me the “heads up” or should I say the “straight 💩” before my first colonoscopy and “forewarned is forearmed”!! Mike and Jess…love that laughter and Billy Connolly is a riot!❤️❤️
I've had two, no drugs to make me sleep, it was uncomfortable though, they even suggested taking the bus home, glad I took my car cos I farted bigly all way home.

I actually had a colonoscopy 2 weeks ago, as I had suspected bowel cancer. It's just Billy say I got advised to use baby wipes instead of toilet paper, as your bum is red raw. For the record I had polyps not cancer thank god. Martin from Wigan UK

Haha I had something similar to BC. Had some blockages in my upper colon & my GP sent me to the hospital. Unfortunately, the hospital was overcrowded, so they gave me a couple of DIY enemas in a tube & sent me home.
Tell ya what, the results are exactly as BC described. I couldn't venture more than 5m from the toilet cos the time between feeling like you had to take a shit, and shit actually coming out, could be measured in seconds.
Took me 30hrs before I felt normal again.
