Some things i missed/general points: *Important update: drop, along with yano and myself, has made a discord server which covers all dashes which we know of/have found thus far, please check this out for more nuanced dashes (recent/unmentioned in this video) as well as a community of dashers who are also learning/sharing these dashes: discord.gg/RUkVYcHnwS - I use standard kbm controls, except for thumb button 1 being accelerate and w only being lean forwards - When i say left or right or air right or diagonal left, you can always flip those directions, just not back or forwards - For the double dash, you want to dash as soon as both front wheels touch the ground - For multidashes when drifting, dont accelerate or reverse, or your car will stick even more to the ground, this applies to multidashes when not drifting, but is not as important - F (frontflip), B (backflip), L (left flip), R (right flip) - Cars/hitboxes aren't too important, but double dashes/haons are easier in octane, and backdashes/the hel jump thingy is easier in dominus, all dashes can be done in any car, some are just more difficult - When im saying "front" for the first dash in the hel jump thing, it's not a forward flip, it's an empty jump, sos if that confuses any1 - I briefly hold drift out of the flip cancel when landing, it's smoother and easier to continue from - I hold drift after the backflip cancel in the slingshot for a clean cele - When going for an astomo, roll the ball up somewhat slow, and grab the back boost - That last triple dash pop is without hold drift - Check out nytro jake, he's coaches dashing/fs and he's really good: metafy.gg/@nytro-jake-/sessions
4:34 Quick tips that helped me get this mechanic from 1 every 50 attempts to 1 every 10 attempts (maybe 2/10 idk) #1 DO NOT PITCH FORWARD AFTER LEAVING THE GROUND (sudo says this in the vid too) #2 The angle your butt lands at is important. I find that fixing my eyes on a point at the edge of the map helps me figure out exactly where my car path is regardless of where my nose is pointed (i.e,.. find the general direction your momentum is taking you). This helps you figure out where your rear part of your car needs to be to execute the mechanic. Reference where Sudo's right rear bumper is flipping into the ground at 5:33, thats where you roughly need to be. #3 After jumping and holding S/D (assuming you are turning right from the initial jump as shown in vid) IMMEDIATELY hold A to slow your cars rotation down. I use this to help me prepare for step 2 and is what really helped me find the sweet spot. If this causes you to underturn into the first wave dash then you need to either turn right longer or delay the timing of when you start pressing A. #4 Begin holding Shift (powerslide) only when you are ready to begin flipping. I find that pressing LShift simultaneously with right click works every time. #5 Use slowmo or bakkesmod slowmo. This is an incredibly fast execution of flips and requires a very high level of precision to execute correctly at full speed. Give yourself extra time to do this. From the top: Build a little forward momentum, release W, jump once/hold D simultaneously, tap S to tilt your car properly then release D/S and begin holding A immediately. Once your rear right bumper (or whatever visual point you would like to use) is in line with where Sudo demonstrates at 5:33 begin to flip/hold powerslide simultaneously, immediately release A to hold D and flip simultaneously upon holding D. Do the same for the backflip, etc,.. hold powerslide the entire time. *note: It's slightly easier to do the backflip part in dominus than octane but you can do this in any car. Hope this helps! :D *finalnote: The timing for things will eventually become automatic and you wont have to think about these things but learning in a step-by-step process goes a long way into learning new things. Find the part you are struggling with and focus on it. If you cant figure out what you're doing wrong break down the process until you cant anymore and you will most likely find what you're doing wrong.
also for the backdashes it's useful to do a hel jump and practice the motion before doing it in reverse. this also helps with the dash timing. (essentially what sudo does at 9:09)
Amazing tutorial, straight to the point and dashes are highly useful in comp as well as beautiful and good for freestyles its something everyone needs. This is much better than just learning dashes through trial and error. I had no idea where to even start with the harder dashes and sequences before I found this video. Thank you!
Sick video man! Definitely the most techincally advanced kbm ground mech tutorial video ive ever seen. 9:28 I think this is the zapdash now but idk. Also some questions: Why did you set your accelerate to your thumb mouse button? What keyboard do you use? Also, not sure if you play competitive a lot but if you do would you consider doing a 1v1 or 2v2 comp series? Have a good one and excited to see more of ur clips in the future!
yea kinda called the zapdash now but was discovered like a year ago before given that name. Initially, I set my accelerate to thumb mouse button for turtle fs setups a long time ago, but have found you can get so much more control over dashes and more this way, it's not necessary but allows for further control over the car. I use a RK61 keyboard (there are def better options out there) or my laptop's keyboard. I don't really play comp, I tend to just throw and not have that much fun, so there'd be nothing interesting on the comp front from me. ty
Thats a regular flick but the ball is just slightly further back from the regular starting position. Take note of his timing on when he inputs the second right click and you can see how he allows the ball to slightly role further back than you otherwise would when trying to launch it horizontally
awesome tutorial, i have a question: is it possible to do this dashes like the multidash with air roll as the same bind as drift? im trying to do it but it doesnt work so im not sure if its because of me or the binds
It's possible, it shouldnt really have much of an effect on the actual mechanic. These are peak ground mechs for kbm rn so give yourself time to learn them. Bakkesmod slowmo helps a ton.
Just for motivation if you're currently still interested in learning this: I've been practicing this for a while now and have improved a lot in doing it. I'm like semi-consistent at it now. And yes, I have air roll bound to drift. Some tips I have are: 1. When you dash to the left or right, don't "cancel" the dash by pulling the stick to the other side again. (I've been doing this wrong and saw immediate improvement after not doing this.) 2. Use BakkesMod slowmo mode, this was a game changer for me (I put it at 0.4 to 0.5) 3. Angle your car only SLIGHTLY. I noticed that when I angle my car too steeply, I just do a sidedash.
@@vastoa thx for the help! i stopped practicing on it for a while but I'm gonna try to get back into it when i have the time. i think those first two tips will help me out a lot, thank you
@@sudo7142 I mean more so the specific dashes you can do into two wheel drifts like triple dash 2 wheel drift quad 2 wheel etc, and with them not being too hard that's even more of a reason for why it could be in but yeah it was still good just missed some stuff that's all :D

I got used to using slide and air roll right on the same button, I want to know if I can have problems when trying to execute dashes
i think the only problem would occur when doing pop dashes because you'll stick to the ground a bit unless you very quickly release slide
